Really enjoyed our stay here. It's not the most modern accommodation you will need to be up early to get the sunbeds. The breakfast was a great selection. The beach is about a 30 minute walk away and the nearest shop at least 15 minutes. You will need to taxi to restaurants and nearby bars but they aren't too expensive. The rooms have everything you need and are lovely and cool. The communal areas of the hotel reception bar etc are not air conditioned. But for the price we paid it was fantastic.

Think a lot has been covered in previous comments. Let's try and remain positive about this one. so:-

Check-in:- We arrived on an early morning flight from East Midlands at 10:30am, knowing in advance we wouldn't be able to check-in so we packed a separate bag accordingly and left our luggage in the concierge room. We weren't expecting to be able to check-in until 4pm, especially when check-out time is around 10am.

Check-in.
An interesting experience, especially when your stood in a hotel lobby in 30+Deg heat and no A/C working. The process seems to take at least 10 minutes. I'm led to believe that a lot of this is to do with the fact an internal system is checking to see whether you're allowed to be in the country, as in immigrated at customs properly. Either that or the Internet connection is still operating on dial up. You will need to supply a credit card to cover any incidentals. Don't make a fuss just do it!

Word to the wise. YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE MUM, DAD, THE KIDS, THE GRANDPARENTS, THE GREAT GRANDPARENTS, THE BOYFRIEND THAT THE DAUGHTER MIGHT STILL WANT TO BE WITH AT THE END OF THE HOLIDAY AND ALL THE LUGGAGE TO CHECK-IN. Lead name on the booking, EVERYBODY ELSE'S PASSPORTS / ID. That's it, this is not rocket science. If the ladies at reception need to see any of your unwashed bodies for some reason they'll let you know, otherwise sit down, use the wifi and chill out!

Accommodation
Two sides to this. Main part of the hotel is at the front where the lobby is, us tourists are out back in the apartment blocks (4 levels with lift access). We had a two bedroom apartment, two separate bathrooms, pull out sofa bed if you needed it (and don't believe the comments about stains and the like on the sofa bed. Put a bed sheet on it and it's a bed, simple). Apartments are equipped with Fridge Freezer around 6ft in height, washing M/C, Microwave, Electric Hob, Iron & Ironing Board. All decent kit and easy to use. We stayed in apartment 4004 which was great as it overlooked the golf course at the back instead of the pool so was nice and quiet, and the shade during the day was needed. A/C in the apartment feels like you walk into a fridge which was bliss. Housekeeping everyday and the ladies will come back if you're trying to catch some zzzz's or it's inconvenient.

Facilities.
Swimming Pool - Yes
Outdoor Jacuzzi - Yes
Slides for ankle biters - Yes
Breakfast - Yes. We pre-booked in advance but you can also pay on the day.
Supermarket on site - NO
Legend has it there's a gym on site, but we never saw it. Must've been in hiding.

Probably the major comment to make here regarding the hotel is this. IF YOU DON'T HIRE A CAR OR BRING YOUR OWN, THEN YOU HAVE TO RELY ON TAXI'S. This is quite an important fact. You are out of town, next to the main highway and this is a Golf Resort Area. The distance to the main restaurants in the new part of Los Alcazares is approximately 3-4kms. Without transport you are very limited in what you can do and where you can go.

Taxi's
Another interesting experience. The hotel reception is very good at organising them for you to get into town. The downside is that the taxis don't come out to the hotel that rapid. For example, being told by the hotel reception 10 minutes is closer to 20-25 minutes which is good because it means parents have time to sink a few in the hotel bar before the taxi arrives. Weekends? anybody's guess. Saturday night we were told 20mins, taxi arrived 50mins after first booking. Now, surely this isn't a problem right? If the A/C in the lobby works then no. When it doesn't, then you do look like you need another shower. In July / August time between 7-8pm in the evening it is still in the late 20's, early 30's Degrees C. No point in shouting at the ladies at reception, totally out of their control.

When you do venture into town, ask to be taken to the square in the new part of town. You'll get dropped off on the side of a large roundabout in a pull in area. When you want a return taxi, there's a taxi rank directly opposite this area on the other side of the road. Either ring the number on the board, or wait a few minutes and taxi's will pass by. Weekends are a killer, you take your chances. Later in the evening, bigger the queue gets fact of life.

MAJOR OBSERVATION:- As of August 2022, some taxi drivers were insistent on you still wearing a face mask. Be obliging and understand it's their living. If they ask you if you have a mask or would you mind putting one on, don't whinge just do it. If they contract Covid-19 then they don't earn.

Supermarket
For the Bear Gryll's dads out there, there is a supermarket called Dialprix (open 9am - 9;30pm) and it's around a 3 1/2km hike from the hotel as a round trip. Not far I hear you say? I did it at 7pm and it was still pushing 29 Deg C. I also did it at 8am, and it was 24 Deg C. Why not get a taxi then? No problem, but it's anybody's guess how long you'll wait for one on the return journey.

Swimming pool.
This is a doozy. I never get disappointed at watching us Brits literally launch towels at sunbeds to bag our bit of Blighty as soon as we can. No sooner are the cleaners away from the pool area, that chain across the pool entrance comes down and it's like an F1 starting grid! The Spanish who stay here must look at us in awe. Apart from the obvious loons who queue to put towels down, it's a pretty impressive layout. In a figure of 8 shape, shallow end closest to the bar area, deeper end closer to the entrance. Good set up for kids with the slides. Two life guards on duty for the duration the pool is open. The lifeguards also operate quite a strict rule book. If your towel is on your bed and they walk around and it looks like no one is using it (Dad is sleeping off the Estrella in the Apartment, Mum's watching the kids trying to drown each other) You get a polite note reminding you not to hog the beds and give everyone a chance. If they come back and the note has clearly not been taken or read, guess what? the guys take your towels away so that others can use the beds. Great system and I fully agree. Also, no inflatables or ball games in the pool. Weirdly the pool is used for swimming, who knew? Anything else is frowned upon so leave your blow up unicorns and airbeds at home because you'll be told "Negative Ghostrider, the swimming pool is full!"

Previous comments by people on the cleanliness of the pool. Strange thing is this. Wash the bloody suntan lotion off first with the showers provided, and the water doesn't go murky does it?

Food
What can I say? Breakfast buffet is one of the best I've had and I do a lot of travelling in my job. Nothing at the pool bar except potato chips, ice cream. Bar inside the hotel is good for a snack in the evening, burgers, pizza, some seafood. Quality is very good and very reasonably priced.

On the whole, a really nice hotel. Some will comment it's 'looking tired' or 'it could do with a lick of paint'. Show me somewhere coastal that doesn't have signs of weathering. I'm a firm believer that if it's good enough for the locals, then it's good enough for me. I would say this is predominantly Spanish that visit here. Maybe 90%, the balance made up of Brits, Dutch, Norwegian when we visited, French. Trust me I love being British, but it's nice to also stay somewhere where it's not the dominant language or accents you hear all the time at home.

Hotel staff? Incredible. They do a difficult job looking after people like us and they do it to the best of their ability with a smile. If you feel yourself getting to boiling point, go take a stroll, re-group and come back.

Would I go back? No. Why? Nothing to do with the property, the facilities or the staff. Far from it. Just other places in the world I want to visit. We came, we stayed, we had a great holiday courtesy of the Senator Mar Menor and the staff and I'd definitely recommend others staying here.

Room tip: Ask for a top floor apartment, facing the golf course. Best views and more quiet.

Stayed for a week with daughter in 2 bed apartment. Apartment was in fair condition, all we needed, good air-conditioning.... But the beds... OMG..... Rock hard.... So stiff every morning when we got up.
The resort has everything you could need, but can't have. The pool was busy not enough beds or umbrellas... Opens at 10am....stay if you want to keep your beds... Tiles missing along edges....could be cleaner... Can't see ground of pool at all... Wouldn't be putting my head under..
The hotel itself has great potential but lacks input from management. The air conditioning is not working in the lobby, dining room and bar which makes it very very hot as temperatures about 40degrees..staff struggling too... Difficult for them.
We had breakfast included, it was fine, good choice but hot food always lukewarm.
Do not stay here if you do not have a car.... It's miles from town and it approx €10 each trip you make.... Keep that in mind.
As an English speaking person there is very little assistance, there is a bus but no one knows times etc. On our last morning came to our door at 10.45am as apparently checkout is 10am...nobody told us so we stayed till 12. Asked for late checkout till 4...huge sign at reception but refused us... Overbooked... But rooms on website???... Flight from Alicante at 8.30pm...could store bags but so hot you couldn't stay there with no a/c... It's €100+ to Alicante airport and no bus transfers.
Overall, first time to Spain, disappointed.

The appartment was soo bad that we checked out the very next day even if we had booked 3 nights and had to pay for them all. This is the worst Hotel I have ever been to. The worst thing was the smell. We are not really picky but this I will not recommend to anyone. Need to close it and renovate it as the smell will not go away without good renovation. The ekstra bed that was a sofa had lot of stains, the walls, the ceeiling etc. was dirty etc. The air condition had a timer that was not possible to change so it stopped every 2h. The swimming pool was dirty and tiles were broken and could easily cut you.

Room tip: Do not go there.
