I stayed for one night as part of a cycling holiday. The b&b had everything needed for the stay - lockable garage for bike, good breakfast and close to village centre for evening meal/ drinks. The b&b is located at the top of the main street's hill. It's a very quaint old property full of character. Bishop's Castle is a very attractive village and the Castle Hotel beer garden is a stunning setting on a summer's evening. The b&b is close to the church and its bells, but this wasn't an issue to me - enjoy them. I'd happily recommend Poppy House.

Very busy restaurant - coffee shop. Ordered an English breakfast with hot chocolate.
Huge portions with real farm produce. Freshly cut bread for toast. Hot chocolate was immense. Very friendly staff. Car parking at rear.

We needed to find a room at short notice and The Poppy House welcomed us in to their very comfortable home which is steeped in history.
The owners made sure we had a comfortable night and a great breakfast.
Their enthusiasm for their business and the the town was clearly evident and a great bonus.

Room Tip: The house is very old and each of the rooms is unique. Ours had windows to the front and rear. We loved the sense of history of the place.

Stayed here for one night. Made very welcomed by Clive who was very informative of the room facilities. The B&B is very central to active pities in the area and is surrounded by greats views/country side. A couple of Micro Breweries are sited in the town also.

Room Tip: Quirky rooms. The chimes of the nearby clock tower were hardly heard. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice.
