Description: If you want to eat out in Bishops Castle look no further - Shropshire has a long history of culinary excellence. Shrewsbury has a plethora of good restaurants, and Ludlow is just down the road, which for a time boasted more Michelin starred restaurants than London itself! We don‘t do Michelin at The Castle, but we certainly use many of the same local suppliers. We’re spoilt for them actually. What we aim to produce is modern, good pub food that is healthy, hearty, flavoursome & fresh at great value of course. And you’ve a wide choice of places to eat at The Castle. Each of the three bars has its own individual character, some with open fires, some with terraces out into the garden. Or try our oak panelled restaurant, believed to feature in the Mary Webb novel “The House in Dormer Forest”. And when the weather is warm, & remember it’s always sunny in Shropshire, our south facing gardens with terrace & raised fish ponds provide the perfect spot for a light repast and a cooling beverage.

Love this hotel, it’s local so we go to eat or for a drink. The inside is magnificent & the gardens superb. Particularly love the fish nights & cream teas!

Arrived in the afternoon. Only cream teas available. Had soft drinks. Took a while for staff to appear.
Bishops Castle is a quaint town and well worth a visit.
Parking alongside Hotel. Not sure about public transport.

We sat up in the gardens with a good view. The dogs were welcome but we had to arrive early to get a table in the shade. The steps up to the terrace would be tricky for anyone with mobility problems however. The food was lovely and fresh. It came hot and without too long a wait even though the hotel was busy. The portions are big and we really enjoyed it. I would thoroughly recommend The Castle. Well worth a visit.

Just had lunch in this charming village pub and sat in the tranquil garden with outstanding vews of the shropshire countryside. The weather was wonderful which made it perfect. We had a light healthy lunch which was very nice but the menue is very varied and caters for all tastes
