My wife and I came to Cogne as part of a Road Scholar trip. We loved the ambience of the town as well as the comfort and warm hospitality of staying at the Hotel du Grand Paradis. In the middle of our stay, my wife broke her ankle while hiking. During the three days until our departure, Filipo and his staff were wonderful!! They brought meals to our room, arranged for transportation, and most importantly offered us genuine care and concern. We are very grateful for the kindness offered us by everyone at the hotel and we feel fortunate that in Cogne we stayed at the Hotel du Grand Paradis.

We have been there in May and it was a perfect stay. The rooms are really typical equipped and perfect for a relaxed weekend. After a long day of hiking we used the SPA. With a lot of wood at the top of the hotel and super relaxed. I can highly recommend to stay in this hotel and use it as a starting point for hiking and relaxing :-)

This hotel is lovely, has great service, BUT is located next to a massive cellphone tower!
We cannot believe that such a huge, toxic, ugly tower was allowed to be built right next to the church and hotel, with all the space available in the valley!!!
Not only is it ugly, but more important, it is highly toxic! Radiation from electro magnetic waves is known to be dangerous, and people's health should not be sacrificed to new technologies.
So, yes, we were dissapointed in our stay for this very reason, not because of the hotel which is lovely and has great service: thank you Anna for your professionalism and gentleness!
The rooms are pleasant, with great baths, breakfast is good with great service, and the Spa is very pleasant even though small: Chiara gives excellent massages ( however, massage table would be better if it had a hole for the face, as cervicals would be better aligned).
The village is very pleasant, and the whole area quite beautiful, with hikes galore!

Dear ginsengNewYork,

Thank you for the beautiful words about our hotel and our service, really appreciated.

It was great to host you, to talk to you, and as said as departure, we hope to see you again soon!

We are sorry about the fact that you penalize our hotel because of the cellphone tower though.

We agree that it is ugly and sad to have it here in the center of the town, but it is not in the hotel!

Unfortunately, the reality is that nobody can stay without technology anymore – anyone visiting Cogne and the Gran Paradiso NP brings the mobile with (I guess you did the same) as well as guests ask about the Wi-Fi availability before booking (I guess you used it, too)…

We can also say that as we are in a protected area (Gran Paradiso National Park), the pollution is very low and monitored – certainly the conditions are much better here than in any other city, also a little one... comparing to New York where you live, it's really a paradise for the environnement and pollution.

Nature rules in Cogne; it is amazing and wonderful - the National Park, the mountains, the wild animals; people built the town and the houses, marked the trails and the ski tracks (and did pretty well) … and this little big cellphone tower (it looks bigger because it is close!); this last one should not be the souvenir of your trip and should not ruin your vacation!

Anyway, thank you again for the positive comments about us and the area; we are looking forward to your next visit!

Best regards
Filippo & Grand Paradis Hotel staff

Fantastic stop, great discovery. Loved the small but wonderful spa. We only stayed one night but it must be wonderful to do some hiking and come back there to relax.
Worthwhile getting the separated room with a private entrance.

We stayed here as part of a group on a cross country skiing course. The spa is great at the end of the day.

The rooms are rather small but that’s OK if you’re out and about enjoying the amazing area.

Dinner was at another hotel each evening. This was good and they were happy to cross charge wine and other drinks.

Breakfast wasn’t the best.

The location is excellent and there is car parking nearby.

I have no idea how much this place would have cost if booked separately but the price on the website for next week is reasonable / good value.

I would stay here again.
