We have know about this restaurant for years but never got here until today

It was one of the best lunches I have had for a long while

We chose the "menu du jour" which was three courses for 13.50€ each wine was extra but not exorbitant and coffee was the normal price, so very good value

The restaurant is down one of the side streets leading away from the main square so you may have to search for it
It is decorated in a modern style and was very clean and tidy, (I was told the toilets were very clean and modern - which is another plus point), the staff were friendly and very helpful
Then there was the food it was delicious high quality, good portion size and tasty
We had a look at the evening "menu a la carte" and it was refreshing to find the set menu had the same courses as the a la carte which meant they have a small choice (roughly 4 / 5 dishes on each course) so they can concentrate of quality rather than on a large selection of poorly prepared dishes. The evening menu is not cheap but then nowhere in France is cheap if you want quality

We will come back again at lunch time for certain and in the evening to try out their menu

Very unassuming restaurant down a side street but the husband fancied the menu.

We were early so got a lovely table outside. The children chose the fish option for main and both me and my husband found plenty of choices for starter and main.

The Gazpacho soup with basil sorbet was gorgeous, very fresh and exactly what I needed after a hot day.

Steaks were gorgeous and the accompanying vegetables and sauces were surprising.

The children's fish course was amazing - the thickest piece of cod cooked perfectly with the same type of veg as us adults. No deep fried, crumb coating in sight!

The dessert selection is well worth the extra charge!

We are hoping to return for lunch before the end of the holiday.

Oh and the house red was lovely too!

A neighbourhood restaurant, near the town centre with a choice of set meal 30 euros per head or àl a carte.

Food was thought out with a choice of steak, fish, duck or lamb.

It is important to choose dessert at the beginning of the meal to give the restaurant time to prepare it. This is a restaurant that has a system that needs to be followed.

Unfortunately we didn't follow the system and added a creme brulee late to our order which involved a surcharge of 8 euros, which was explained to us and which we accepted.

We then received one cold surcharged pudding while the others were warm, we naturally asked to return it. The waitress was irritated and the chef came out and remonstrated fully seeing this as being our fault for changing our order at the dessert stage.

We then returned the cold brulee with two spoonfuls taken out and when this wasn't removed from the bill as one would have expected it to of been - we complained, this was followed by some unnecessary bad temperedness from both the waitress and then the chef who came out and threatened to call the police!

This was not an argument one could not take seriously how could you? The affair of the creme brulee will just go down in history as a rather eccentric episode!

La Dolce Vita is a must visit if you are in the area. The food is fantastic. The restaurant itself is only small and there was only one server, but she worked incredibly hard. The menu offers only a few dishes for each course, but the quality of the food is fantastic! As a party of 8, we all ordered various different meals and each was delicious. I really can't fault anything about this place, it really is brilliant - I'm glad we decided to go on our last night as it capped off a lovely holiday.
