We booked this cottage the day before our trip due to complications with our other accommodation, and i’m glad we stayed here instead! The cottage is very well decorated and feels homely the second you step inside. The owners Paul and Lynne had left eggs, fresh bread, towels and made sure we had enough coal for the fire. The cottage is a 15min walk from zipworld and there’s a village a 20min walk aswell so it’s surrounded by everything you could want! I would 100% recommend this cottage to anyone and will be returning.
A delightful cottage, deceptively roomy. There were only two of us (plus our dog!) but the cottage easily sleeps 7. We arrived in the pouring rain and walked into a roaring log fire, fresh bread in the table, butter and milk in the fridge. Local Tesco’s stocks most items you need and is only 5 mins drive away. Lynne gave detailed instructions on how to get the best out of our stay, we arrived early, and after sending a text to alert her, she had everything ready and waiting for us. The bed was so comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay, wish we could have stayed longer.
Just got back from our stay here. What can I say I was very pleased with it. Upon arrival (we arrived late Thursday night around 9.30) the fire was lit keeping the cottage all warm and toasty which was lovely to walk into from a 2.5 hour drive. Fresh bread, eggs and milk were provided which I thought was a very kind gesture. The cottage was lovely and clean plenty of towels provided (loved the elephant towel) plenty of fuel for the fire.Perfect home from home. Lovely walks around the cottage and a 10 minute walk away from zip world. Tesco express on your doorstep and a beautiful Indian sitar just a 5 minute drive down the road. We opted for a take out with a few drinks around the fire. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here with ny family. The children really enjoyed staying in a cottage and the children books provided were a hit. The area is beautiful,we will definitely be back again. Thankyou so much to Lynne and Paul
Fabulous cosy cottage. We stayed a couple of nights to see the New year in. There were 7 of us - 4 adults and 3 children (11-15). The beds were all very comfy. There e
Were plenty of hangers and drawers. In fact the cottage had lots of extras that you don't normally find including soaps, washing liquid, coffee, tea, condiments, foil etc. We also arrived to find butter, milk and mince pies and Lynne even delivered some sparklers for us. There was plenty of coal for the fire which was easy to use and kept the whole place lovely and toasty - I had taken lots of extra blankets just in case but we left them in the boot. Our only negative comment is that the shower kept fluctuating from scalding hot to freezing cold and when at a steady temperature the water just trickled out. As others have commented, there are some fabulous walks right on the doorstep and lots of places to visit just a short drive away. There is a park and a couple of ponies just a short walk away. A 5 min drive takes you up the local Tesco express, just on from Tesco there is a lovely newly refurbished pub/restaurant and an Indian restaurant that doesn't look much but the food was lovely and you can take your own alcohol, which was a bonus. All in all a very lovely stay.
