It’s an artificial lake, but it’s nice to walk around and enjoy the view anyway .
There’s a Tibetan bridge (you better check the opening hours before hand) and a new attraction named Volo dell’Angelo (Flight of the Angel) – for those who are brave enough and long for some adrenaline.
Unfortunately, we didn’t see the underwater city (who knows when we will be able to see it) but, if you have a passion for nature, you should really go.

Unfortunately there is no mark how to get to the lake so we didn't find it :(
Maybe it was closed in October or something but we found nothing. There was not even a place to stop the car and see the lake.
Very not welcoming...

We had a very nice walk around Lake Vagli and also in it. There's apparently been a bit of a drought recently leading to some eerie landscapes down in the valley.

We parked at Vagli Sotto and walked for some hours through the surrounding countryside. The paths are pretty good, not wheelchair accessible, but good enough that someone as clumsy as I am didn't fall over once!

After some wandering we decided to climb down to the lake floor, which was a strange experience to be among the dried up trees and old bridges, and masonry that used to form part of the original village that now lies submerged beneath the lake.

Really enjoyed my time here. Would recommend going if you're in the area.

My husband and I stayed in Vagli Sotto at an AirBNB (highly recommended), and we love this area. The views of the town Vagli Sotto from the lake are lovely, and there are also some beautiful bridges and landmarks. You can actually walk from the parking lot of Vagli Sotto down a road that leads to a trail. The trail will take you across the second bridge and around the lake, offering beautiful views and places to stop throughout.

Word of caution: watch out for stinging nettles, mosquitoes, and bees. We wore bug spray, but we must have somehow disturbed a group of bees. They chased after us as we ran down the path. We eventually got away from them and enjoyed exploring some of the smaller paths branching off from the main path. Some took you to a "beach", which was mostly dried mud but we saw several groups camping and fishing by the lake.

Apparently the swimming here is great, but we just enjoyed he hike/walk. After two hours we ended up at the end of a long road the campers drive on, and then back to the entrance of Vagli Sotto. A really nice afternoon! Bring water and a towel and you can stay all day!
