Description: This is a local's local. Often you can come here on a sunny evening, sit in the conservatory looking up the river, and watch the fishermen in their waders casting flies for salmon. If you wanted to show an American friend a classic British pub, this would fit the bill nicely.

My wife and I went on 15th May for a quick bite to eat and a drink. The pub always has good ales on and it was no different trying the Cumberland and another bitter which name escapes me today. We both had the bacon, Brie and cranberry ciabatta sandwich which was gorgeous. With a side of chunky chips it was the perfect snack in the perfect venue with it being a beautiful day. If the weather permits sitting outside is great as the views are stunning. If not, you can still see the outside and inside is a good homely venue.

This is a lovely Bunning and Price restaurant, set above the Dee. Try to book a table with a view over the river. The food, as with all this chain is consistently very good. It feels freshly prepared and made to a high restaurant standard. No chav chips and reheats here. Well done, a great evening and another excellent dining experience.

We visited the Cross Foxes last Friday evening with family members. A seperate booking was made by additoional family members and they were accomodated to ensure we were able to sit at tables next to each other.
The service was to a high standard and everybody enjoyed their meals with no exceptions.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Cross Foxes to others.

We came on a Tuesday evening and it was busy - would recommend booking any day you come! The menu is not big but there's enough to suit most tastes, including kids. We all really enjoyed our meals (there was 8 of us) and the staff were very good and attentive. The location by the river is beautiful as well.

The pub is in a lovely setting by the River and is immaculate inside and upmarket. The staff are very friendly and courteous. We enjoyed our starters (cauliflower Bhajis and salad and sauce and also potted mackerel and crab with toast and pickled cucumber I think). They were tasty. The mains weren’t as nice. Bit disappointing really. The cheese pie was ok but certainly not that nice. The sausages and mash were awful. They were so so salty and nothing had any flavour. The mash was hard and a bit lumpy really and didn’t taste nice. That’s the second time the sausage and mash at a Brunning and Price pub have been awful. Shame really because we have had other mains that have been better such as the lamb or beef dinner. It’s a very nice pub only let down by some poor dishes occasionally. We will go back but will never order the sausage and mash again. It really is not nice.
