Now open during their winter and the chef is absolutely not on holidays! The plates are simple and fresh; the taste is great and reserves some great surprises. Some of them local kept secret, some of them explained by the chef herself (who also trained in France)!
Very friendly staff (offered twice to bring us back to our hotel) as a bonus...
Do not hesitate to insist that your cab-driver stop here, even if the restaurant do not give them a fee (like other restaurants less good but willing to pay your driver) or take the bus (stops in front of the restaurant). It is certainly more expensive than a free meal at the all-inclusive hotels, which restaurant wouldn’t, but 10 times better, in taste, quality and pleasure.

A place, where you feel like a stranger only once. Perfect food quality as well as friendly stuff. Prices are absolutely reasonable and are perfect according to the served quality.
A recommendable location between Perreybere and Bain Boeuf.

This establishment had a high rating on this site and I tried it. Although the fish was indeed fresh it was over fried and the butter and garlic sauce did nothing for it. The salad was plain and uninteresting and consisted of one lettuce leaf and some cabbage. The gateau piments in the Mauritian specialities basket had been reheated. It would be OK for a very low key local meal if it were not so overpriced. The premises are very much local cafe and had the food been to a higher standard, we would have felt less ripped off. We are staying at a hotel with an excellent restaurant where the food compares with the best anywhere in the world and the prices are similar, I.e. Priced like Carluccio's in London . A neighbouring 6 star hotel cost only two and a half times for lunch - the cost of dinner at La Maison du Pecheur. There is a real market failure here.

We ate dinner at this restaurant and were surprised at the prices charged, I ordered what they called Large Prawns only 4 in a portion @ 1000.00 Rp Also no credit cards which we were told when done, one plus is good service and genuine owners

Delicious food and lovely hosts.
Tipical Mauritian food, served in a familiar environment.
