Nicely located hotel just outside Condat situated beside a small lake. Very quiet at night, comfortable bedrooms, but wifi so slow as to be unusable. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking outside. Condat itself appeared almost deserted.

This is essentially a hostel with restaurant but the lake view is outstanding. Simple basic room, ideal for one night. Although short-staffed on the night we went the restaurant meal was of surprising quality with a reasonable wine list including several local wines. Not much to see in Condat itself but the stopover here enabled us to explore the marvellous Auvergne region.

This hotel is looking a bit tired. Beds were very firm. Views from the balcony which overlooked the lake were great. However, the noise from hundreds of croaking frogs kept us awake so we had to shut the balcony door, then had to get up in the early hours to open the door as the room was far too hot, fortunately the frogs had gone to sleep. Breakfast was OK. Not a great range of cereals and no cold meats. The chef cooked us some eggs on request (a lot more learning required on cooking methods). The evening meal was nicely presented but essentially tasteless. Staff were friendly. If we were to visit this area again we would return unless somewhere was available.
Situated by a lake with a lovely walk around it. Warm welcome and friendly staff. Rooms a little outdated though spotlessly clean and wooden balcony could do with new paint. Bathroom large modern and clean. Restaurant has special menu available for paying guests which was reasonably priced and tasty. Breakfast was fresh but basic served with a view overlooking the lake. Staff "disappeared" at about 10:30pm and we were therefore unable to ask for another drink from the bar. Overall a pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings.
