We tried Wild Shropshire last night. Was simply amazing. James, the owner and chef introduced every course personally, to each table. 8 courses in the menu, all stunning. It was fun trying to work out what was included in each course. There was nothing too weird and wonderful. Just different. Highly recommend the wine flight too.
We will be back!!

Eight of us with no idea what to expect had a marvellous treat. James gave us an intriguing introduction and was engagingly and entertainingly informative throughout

We had the tasting menu and every course was brilliant. It really exercised our tastebuds trying to identify all the constituents and I can say that eight different courses and eight different people got sixty four rave reviews- and this was a varied and somewhat tough to please em all group.

Service also great so can't fault it on anything - definitely good value and definitely want to go again!

If you’re happy to take a modest risk, but enjoy a variety of different types of food, this could be for you.

Don’t worry, you’ll not be fed snail porridge, unlike a certain other establishment, but rather a range of dishes with familiar or lightly different, such as freshly gathered wild herbs and petals, ingredients.

As you’ll read on James’ website the meal is essentially a tasting menu of perhaps eight dishes. None are too tiny that you almost miss the flavour or texture, nor so large that you wish you’d had less. And by the end of the meal you should be feeling comfortably replete.

The wine flight offered is both good value and also gives you a taste of things you might not typically order.

At the end of the meal all is revealed as you finally get a copy of the menu and James comes round to each table to discuss the dishes.

All in all a very enjoyable meal. We look forward to returning.

Can’t praise James enough for the wonderful dinner we ate last Saturday. Such different flavour/texture combinations were a revelation! The starter of peas ,gooseberries and fresh cheese was unusual - and the culinary adventure just carried on with each subsequent course! James is obviously passionate about the food he serves, taking time to visit each table in turn for a chat. (Big thank you to Lou and Katy who served us too). Would recommend the wine flight: perfectly paired wines with each course added to our enjoyment. Can’t wait to come back with some foodie friends. Thank you James for a great experience!

We booked for the Tasting Menu, and were a bit concerned that we may be a bit hungry afterwards, but we really shouldn't have worried.

The Taster Menu gave us 8 courses, each demonstrating different types and styles of food. James comes to greet each table individually, and explains how the whole thing works. He is very engaging and immediately introduces an element of anticipation as you don't actually see the menu until after the meal.

As the courses come out it is great fun and interesting to try to work out what the flavours are and how they are combining to give the wonderful tastes. We went for the wine flight too, which really complemented the food terrifically. James regularly visits the tables during service, again offering explanations and having a laugh and a joke. The whole atmosphere is one of relaxed enjoyment.

At the end of the meal, having the menu - and what you have just eaten - explained is a great way to end the evening, and an opportunity to ask anything you wish.

Overall a wonderful experience.
