It was the long weekend of 26th January and we had three places planned with Bhimtal being the first one. Booked 2 luxury cottage here, which are made beautifully with wood. On foot, you may have to climb a bit here. They have a private rooftop with stairs from inside the cottage itself. The view was really good. The cottage was big from inside, with a double bed, TV , Split AC, mini bar and a small side bed on the other side. There is a attached washroom too with all the basic toiletries.

Coming to the property now, it is big and maintained okay. There is a pool ( which was empty at that time ) and we arranged bonfire near that. Now, one thing that bothers everyone is the high price of the food items/beverages/drinks etc. It was on the higher side compared to the place and vicinity. The dining room/restaurant is quite big and has old movie poster frames hanging on the walls.

The management is okay and the staff is fine. They helped us arrange chairs, food etc near pool and were constantly helping us. The food is nice here.

To Sum up :

Property(rooms etc.): 4.2/5
Cleanliness: 3.8/5
Staff: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Food: 4/5

Room Tip: Loved the cottage rooms, really good with private rooftop and good view.

The service was average. The common areas, rooms, receiption, restaurents were all not maintained well. The room design is very awkward.
The location is great. On the lake side. The road to the hotel entry is very steep and drivers need to be very careful.
The food was average quality and priced disproportionately high.
Overall experience as "Not value for money".

We were a group of 23 people which included 11 kids of all ages. We reached the resort past midnight at around 2:30 am and were very tired after a day long road journey. Though the bookings were done well in advance, we could not find much readiness at the reception. There were only 2-3 housekeeping guys and due to winter season we had huge amount of luggage with us. It was terribly cold as well. But nonetheless, we were not offered any welcome drink on arrival nor a decent level of courtesy extended by the front office. We asked for arrangement of fireplace in all rooms so that we could stop shivering, then it was communicated that due to heavy rains the wood has dampened and it shall not be feasible for them to arrange for any fire place. By that time, the rude behavious had already shaken us. But somehow the situation came under control and things got normalised. The restaurant staff served us some good hot food at such wee hour. The rooms were enchanting. The bathrooms were of decent size. Room service ok. The next two days which we spent were really good.

Few shortcomings here and there. We ordered Khichdi for dinner and what we got in turn was dal mixed in vegetable pulao and nowhere a Khichdi. The choice of hard drinks very limited. Apart from usage of glass bottles at restaurant, nothing much ecological found. Swimming pool was empty due to winters, but no safety signs in place.

It's on the Mandir roadside facing Bhimtal Lake. Wood and stone built cottages. Modern facilities like swimming pool provided. . We shared food at the open restaurant . Genuine organic dishes. Great surroundings sharing the architectural beauty of the resort. Good destination for eco friendly relaxing !
