Just 20 minutes drive outside of Mwanza is the village of Bujora and the tribal Sukuma museum. A guide is a must and there are very good ones to show you around this outdoor museum. Packed full of history, information and artefacts it is a joyful and pleasurable experience. Take your time, it will last a good two hours.

This is a good place to learn more about the largest tribe in Tanzania, the one that used to solve the disputes with other tribes by playing a board game. We didn't book the dances or the python show but still the guide took a solid hour to take us through the interesting Sukuma history.

Visited there with my parents and was a good historical visit. Good cultural experience especially on their day to say lives, the medicine man, the tools they used, the living huts and their entertainment.. Drums and dances.
Was good to also see how the rulers lived and a background on their ruling, way of life and even sit on the throne...
A good trip in all especially with the very knowledgeable guide.

It is good to go there once you have time, expecially for those coming from Mwanza or flying from Mwanza. The museum is not far from the main road.
