We absolutely loved our meals and were so impressed by the food even more so when your only paying £10 for two courses.
I hope this offer continues as I'm sure we will be visiting quite often from now on!
The pub itself is very cosy and quiet which was great as we had our baby boy with us and decided to stop for some food on the way back from a family day trip.
Will definitely be returning and also really need to try the Sunday roast.
Thank you for your great friendly service , The Davies family

I stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Get to know Jacky, she is very accommodating and will make you feel at home. The food is really nice, in particular look for the oven hot salt stones and cook your own steak - delicious, also, the 'Red Dragon' cheese is a variety to discover and really enjoy.
The staff are without exception, friendly, engaging, fun and a delight to interact with.
This is a marvelous location to explore this particular part of Wales, returning at the end of a days exploration to a tranquil place knowing you will shortly be eating good, exceptionally priced food and a good variety of drinks to accompany your meal.
I shall be back Jacky!!
James.

Hadn't been to the Hollybush Inn for some years. Was suggested by a friend who had been more recently and, although a very a quiet lunch was had (just the two of us) it was pretty good. We both had lasagne with a 'portion' of sweet potato chips (chips were awfully soggy) but the lasagne was good (no parmesan offered). Drinks were fine (soft) and the lady serving was very positive and pleasant. So...nothing to rave about, really, but the food was ok and the Inn wasn't too far off the beaten track (from Newport). Will call again one day.

Thankyou for your review and comments on trip advisor, We put parmesan cheese on top of our lasagne while cooking and additional cheese is available if requested, The sweet potato fry's are freshly prepared and cooked in house and do not get as crispy as frozen sweet potatoes , please request crispy ones on next visit and we will try and cook extra for you.

thanks for review , glad you enjoyed our 2 meals for £12 menu and look forward to see you again soon

Went to The Hollybush for a family birthday meal, in the evening. The service was excellent and the food very good. We chose from the 2 course for £1 menu, which you can add to if you want any extras. Everything was served promptly. There is a great patio area outside, which is excellent for a few drinks before your meal. There are steps up to the patio area which are quite steep, but once you are there it's worth the effort! All in all a fantastic evening and we will certainly be visiting again.

Having driven past this gorgeous pub in picturesque for a few years, I'd somehow never got around to stopping. However, a visiting mum and a last-minute decision to eat out for lunch brought us here. Skidding into the car park 1.55, I dashed in to enquire if there was still a chance of eating. Despite their closing time of 2.30, we were warmly welcomed by Jacky. The food was exquisite, it genuinely was: everything was homemade and of a quality one would expect of a top restaurant. Who'd have thought! Jacky was immensely friendly, warm and so welcoming, and we can't wait to go back. If you are looking for a character full inn with old-fashioned customer service and values, and food quality of equal measure in an idyllic country setting, I can't think of anywhere nicer to go. Wonderful. Thank you, Jacky and Ross. Charlie & Lis
