We booked a 10km reindeer ride directly with Levin Lapinkyla via email, for 2 people. We were very lucky to end up having a private trip as some other people who were supposed to be taking part never turned up. We travelled for about an hour, just us in one sledge, plus the guide in another sledge and his dog running along side, before stopping to roast sausages over a fire in a hut, drink coffee and eat doughnuts, followed by a return journey of about an hour. The whole trip was very calm and relaxing, and passed through beautiful scenery. The dog that came along was very entertaining! The guide was lovely, quite quiet but very friendly. We would highly recommend doing a reindeer trip with Levin Lapinkyla, it felt very personal and unlike a lot of the large tour group trips.

We booked our Reindeer Safari with Thomson. I asked the rep why Thomson was more expensive than other companies over there. She explained that the Reindeer ride was about an hour with them and with the other company much less. We decided to book with Thomson. How wrong was I. Our Reindeer ride was only 20 minutes. We were split into two groups. Our group was left to play with a sledge until it was our time for the ride.
To play with a sledge to make up time I don't need to pay that much. I paid for 4 adults, each 127 Euros. A waste of money.
If anyone goes to Levi, book your adventures through the tourist centre. It saves you a lot of money.
