On an exceptionally warm evening we arrived at Etincelle les Gentilhommes. We immediately had the feeling of walking into someone’s home. Our room was eclectically decorated in an african style, quaintly with a bath within the room itself. We slept well and comfortably under the umberella at the foot of the bed. Dinner was taken on the terrace, cooked and served by our charming hosts, who had both worked at Quatre Saisons in UK. Each course, all the chef's choice, was a surprise and delight, lovingly explained and presented. Breakfast the following morning is taken at a communal table - time to enjoy chatting to other fellow travellers who were all french.

Sunday lunch on a beautiful day. The restaurant on the terrace is lovely - peaceful and in a style that only South Europeans can "do"! But, I was disappointed with the food which I found somewhat ordinary compared to other restaurants in the area - particularly "the other Michelin starred place". I expected better from a Michelin starred establishment. I prefer the bistro food in the Bergerac bistro run by the same couple - it is more inventive and tastes better. Maybe we just went on an "off day" and we should go back to try again.

My wife and I have had dinner there on several occasions and are always, without fail, very impressed by the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the service. Vincent and Anne are a fabulous team and this has to be one of the premier restaurants in the region, very deserving of its Michelin star status. Vincent is a very imaginative chef, with a menu that changes constantly and ingredients sourced from the area, the combination is really magnificent. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough to lovers of fine food.

A great find. A small and intimate restaurant run by a very welcoming couple. The menu changes daily and the ingredients were extremely fresh. Each dish was a perfectly balanced infusion of all the different ingredients, absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend Etincelles.

We happened upon this restaurant by chance, we loved it so much that we made a special trip to dine here again ( and we plan to do so again in the future).

Excellent food, a great range of local wines and all at decent prices.

The restaurant has rooms, which is ideal if you want to enjoy a full meal with wine but not have to drive afterwards.
