This place was highly recommended as one of the best fish places near Florence. You must reserve!

This fact together with a very full parking lot was immediately a good sign.

As with all good fish restaurants the key is in volume which guarantees freshness together with a restaurant stating that there is no more this or that rather than pulling it out of the freezer.

The fish was excellent and the overall price was very competitive. The various areas were absolutely full and this was mid-week.

This is the Italian equivalent of the most popular pub in the area. We turned up at 19:30 on a Friday evening without a reservation and got a table but by the time we left the place was heaving; full of Italian families having a really great time.

We were given a menu in English. The vast majority of the dishes involve seafood, poached, fried or grilled. There were a few non-fishy choices. The emphasis is on quantity with quality perhaps running slightly behind.

We both had prawn cocktail for starters. This was a huge helping each in a sort of cabbage leaf arrangement. Prawns were still warm so may only just have been cooked. For main courses, I had a shellfish casserole, my wife had a seafood salad; both involved a lot of fingers pulling shellfish apart. There were no finger bowls so the house napkins were used extensively for wiping fingers. My wife's plate came piled with "salad" which turned out to be largely cabbage. I had the feeling that my shellfish, pieces of claw etc were somewhat overcooked. Our Italian neighbours on an adjoining table had a large sea bream served with spaghetti. It looked enormous but it was left to the diners to fillet it.

Nevertheless a lot of fun especially with house wine by the carafe. It was only a couple of miles from where we were staying but it must be questionable whether the experience is worth the drive out of central Florence.

As the title said we were a bit disappointed on the food quality.
Staff was kind and helpful.
A bit overpriced!

The drive to this location was a bit long, and the roads were curvy. It's a bit long in the evening! However, upon arrival there were no regrets! There's an English menu after you ask the servers, though they spoke very limited English! The seafood tasted great! The cooked VS uncook both tastes fresh. However the pasta was not fully cooked, you had to ask for more cook. The portions were big!
