We stayed for a week over New Year. As other have commented, the building is totally wood, so noise does carry. However it wasn't too bad and we expected some noise at New Year. Apartment was very clean and tidy. Bedrooms were basic and there was little clothes storage but we had an empty spare room so this didn't bother us. If you had 8 in the apartment you would have trouble and live out of bags. Showers were great, powerful and hot and the sauna was a good extra. Underfloor heating lovely and needed no attention. Heating was at a lovely level automatically. Garage included for two cars plus ski storage. Great views, particularly over the town fireworks on Dec 31st. Ski in ski out was great but you would not want to be a beginner. A blue run right outside the door took us down to the main hill and at the end of the road was a huge green. However when the road was icy this was a bit precarious to get to. You could ski down from the Skarsnuten hotel too and there is a 2 man chair which gets you up there from the main hill. The ski bus service was poor and unreliable and taxis were extremely expensive - £10 to base and £20 - £25 into town (only about 3 miles!). So don't stay here if you want the nightlife and aren't willing to pay for the transport. Skarsuten hotel did good food, but to get there in the evening brochures say its a 4 min walk but I'd say its a 4 min car ride, unless there was a shortcut we missed. We were also able to store our bags there, shower and change on our last day which was really handy. The kids were in ski school for 4 days and it was fab. All the instructors spoke perfect English and they had a blast. The skiing was great and the hill not huge but fine for a week. Quite a few really long drag lifts which our 7 year olds would have struggled on but for adults were fine. Norway is hugely expensive - makes the West End seem cheap so we didn't eat out a lot. Peppes Pizza was nice. The buffet at the Alpin Lodge was really good value and open all day. The Bighorn Steakhouse did great food but as it is attached to a nightclub even at 6 in the evening we could barely hear ourselves and had to use iTorch to read the menus!! A great holiday all in all, but a little isolated due to the high costs of transport.

Room Tip: Chose a lower number room to be nearer the green run at the end of the road. To be near the blue chose in the 50s or 60s.

Spent a week in a Skarsnuten Panorama-apartment. The place is spacious, modern and clean. Sauna and three bedrooms. One or two cars can be parked indoor. Sauna and spacious, clean bathroom. Small problem: the drain in the shower was a bit clogged, so water filled the bathroomfloor instead when showering. One of the beds still had used sheets on it. Not a big problem, however, because fresh, clean sheets were available to make up our own beds.

But then: in the weekend a group of partypeople stayed in the apartment above us. Since the Skarsnuten Panorama-apartments are in a wood-contructed building, we could hear the walking, running, jumping and loud speaking of the group, not to forget the loud music. Called security the first night around one o clock. Unfortunately, they were in the middle of something and could only send someone after some time. at 1.40 we heard someone checking, but at that time the partypeople decided to take a nap. The next night I went up myself to ask them to turn the music down and to stop jumping around (really, jumping, can you imagine the noise when a group jumps on a wooden floor in a wooding building?). It helped for about an hour, then the music slowly gained in volume again. Gladly, we were leaving the next early morning

Had a really wonderful midweek and would have given a great review, but the weekend spoilt much of the great feeling. Would hesitate to go again.

Room Tip: Perhaps less noise from neighbours on upper floor
