The location is very good for our first time camping experience. Stayed in a tent paid 17euro for a night. Its peak season, but not overcrowded. Good clean facilities. Very windy during the night of our stay. I would go back again because of the beach nearby.

We visited here for a weekend it was very busy because of a half marathon. The site is very clean and staff are extremely nice and helpful! Just a few things really 1. €1 for a 5min shower is a bit much having been on French sites where showers are unlimited and free! 2. Achill itself is very poorly serviced by shops with the one beside the campsite closed very early and opened late, the lovely staff helped me with a mug of milk thanks! 3. The fridges are tiny 2 undercounter types which were overpacked and thus naturally not cold!
We would go again as the staff are great but next time we’ll make sure to have our basic stuff like milk with us. We weren’t that late setting up though.

Stayed here for four nights in a tent, it was €31. Bit pricey but good facilities and friendly staff. Check the wind forecast before you go as very exposed. Lovely location close to the beach. Would reccomend.

A lovely situation, especially in the heat wave, right on the beautiful Keel beach. Nice facilities kept clean. Pitches level with hard standing and grass.
Not expensive (€20 per night for 2 people in a motorhome including electricity) but the man in charge insisted on charging €4 for our tow-car! There were large caravans with their cars, taking up at least as much room as us. No one else in Ireland, UK or France does this. Now, €4 is not a large amount but I hate being ripped off. We stayed in Achill for a week but only one night here – he lost out on 6 x €20 thanks to his “policy”.
Go to Seal Caves, much nicer and owned by a lovely family.

We travel to Keel to camp regularly as a family with friends and their families and we love it! The campsite is perfect and they try hard to keep everyone happy. It's a big campsite and I feel it would be of advantage to everyone, including James and the other camp wardens if they allocated one area of the campsite as extra quiet for couples and clients who want to be in bed early. Possibly, there could be another area for family's who don't want a 10pm curfew...... We have teenagers and it's wonderful to sit around at night to chat and have a laugh away from the distractions and devices of home. However, we have been told it was bedtime at 10.30! Believe me- we're not rowdy or loud by any means and don't want to stay up till the early hours but as anyone who has ever stayed in a tent knows any chat can be heard in the neighbouring tents. (I, incidentally always bring earplugs!)
With the greatest respect, we love Sandybanks and try to stick to the rules but a strict curfew will stop us and our friends and their families camping there. See you soon again
