Overall, I wasn't very happy with the camp. We only wanted to shower but still had to pay for a site for the night. I thought that that was a little cheeky.

However, it did look like a nice spot and right on the beach.

Arrived 1st September for 4 nights. Roads from Galway to Mayo towing a caravan was not the best experience especially when we arrived on Achill. The weather I.e wind and heavy mist did not help. However, after a couple of hours after setting up, the mist lifted and the beauty of the area showed itself. We had a fabulous stay. Mayo Council- do something with your roads.

Stayed in a tent in Keel Sandybanks caravan & Camping park weekend starting 2nd September 16, cant speak highly enough of it, from the staff, site, facilities and location everything was perfect. Welcomed by a very friendly women in reception Friday evening. I asked one of the younger lads working on sunday for directions and he went out of his way to provide me with the info(just a side note this was the last day of the season the campsite was closing for the winter but the staff were still happy to help) so much to be said for good customer service and this place has it in abundance. the site is huge, with loads of space even with a large triathlon on that weekend we still found a nice quiet spot.the facilities are very good, everything working well, everything was also clean.also a playground right next to it for families with young kids.I don't know if the campsite organize this but at their gateway everyday was food vans and an ice cream truck all day. Keel beach is a walk across the road, with surfing and other water sports and its a lovely beach.the other side of the site is a lake for kayaking. One of the absolute best campsite I have been too, and with so much to see and do on the wonderful island of Achill I annot wait to return next summer. On top of all this the price range I don't think can be beat, €20 for 2 nights camping for 2 people.

Stayed for two nights at Keel Sandybanks in August, simply emailed the day before arrival to enquirer about availability and received a very prompt response little over an hour later.
Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival and gave plenty of information on the site amenities and local attractions. There are two well equipped amenity blocks and although some may query the €1 token requirement to the beach, it keeps the facilities private with the proximity to the beach.
There were (in August) a couple of food trucks just beyond the gate - however they don't open in the morning - shame - a bacon buttie would have gone down well.
Great location - would recommend it!
