Amazing little resort, amazing staff, great location... all fantastic! Living in Bali, I needed an escape for a couple of days. Amrita was perfect! The manager communicated quickly and efficiently via Whatsapp with an impeccable English (he was out of town, and still answered all messages quickly). The airport pick-up was on-time and the hotel staff was there to greet me with a lovely smile. After a 10 minutes ride, we arrived at the lovely hotel and I was shown my way to my Deluxe room. Very nice room, nicely decorated, simple with no TV (who wants a TV for anyway!?) but with a mobile Wi-Fi connection. The room was impeccable and very comfortable. The bathroom, semi-open was also super clean with great hot water and pressure. A couple of minutes later, more adorable and smiling staff came to deliver a welcome juice (yummy!). The bed was very comfortable (on the firm side), A/C was working perfectly (so did the ceiling fan) and a mosquito net (which I didn't use) is available. Sunrise and sunset on the beach are not to be missed. Everything is well taken care of and the on-site motorbikes they rent are in very good condition. Breakfast by the beach was superb and dinner very tasty. There are a couple of SUP boards available as well as snorkelling equipment to visit the house reef. For divers, the adjacent resort (accessible via the beach) has a dive centre with excellent service and staff. All in all, Amrita is a perfect place to stay in Maumere and to explore the unspoilt surroundings. And above all, the lovely and super smiling staff made everything easy. Flores people bring you back to earth to rediscover the human side of people!

We stayed at Amrita upon arrival in Flores for 4 nights in April prior to commencing
our 5 day overland tour of Flores.

It is a very pleasent but basic beach side property owned and run by the lovely
Tupal and his staff. On arrival you are welcomed with a fresh coconut to drink.

The rooms are scattered amongst the gardens all facing towards the sea - bungalow
type accommodation. Very comfortable bed with good linen - a fridge and shower
room. All rooms have a nice porch/terrace at the front.

The food offered is of good quality with a good breakfast but do order in advance if
possible or you will have a long wait, not a problem if you are relaxing but it can
become tedious.

The staff are extremely willing and pleasant but communication can be a problem -
if you make all of your requests via Tupal there will be no problem.

The beach is clean and sandy with lovely swimming and good snorkelling.

In conclusion, this is a basic but good beach side choice for the Maumere area which
appears to have a distinct lack of good accommodation. This offers really excellent
value for money.

When we arrived in Maumere I was a little uninspired as its not a really pretty town.We then travelled out of the main town for maybe 10 minutes and arrived at Amrita.Warmly welcomed with a fresh coconut and shown to our little bungalow room.Clean but simple with a huge bed with a mosquito net.No fridge,TV,Toiletries or kettle or any frills but huge bathroom. We were in Duplex 2B at the back of the hotel but could still see the sea and restaurant at the beachside from our verandah.Lots of mosquitos on the verandah but there were mosquito coils if you needed them.We ate at the restaurant out the front which took a while to produce our meal but was very tasty and reasonably priced. The sunset view from the beach is gorgeous and the snorkelling right at the front of the hotel is good with coloured corals, lots of small fish and lots of sea urchins.Breakfast is best ordered the night before to get it in a reasonable time. There is a little trouble with translation with the staff but they are willing to try.Meals took a long time to arrive.Soft drinks and beers were often hard to get but if you told the owner he would get what ever we needed,He was great. The beach is clean outside the hotel but a big celebration happened on the Sunday we were there with the Catholics and Muslim groups having a great day at the beach but they left all their rubbish strewn over the sand.We went for a walk and picked up bags of rubbish and even made a game with the kids to help us pick it up.I dont think they knew what we were doing but soon joined in just because we were doing it.I would have to say that the people in Flores would rank up in the friendliest and tolerant people I have met in the world. They were just wonderful and wanted to talk and find out all about us.I would stay at the Amrita again as it was lovely and met all our needs but keep in mind Flores is 20 years behind in the tourism game(thank goodness) and so dont think you are going to a resort.Expect peace and quiet,Very few guests at the hotel and blissful relaxation.Loved going down to the beach in the morning and watching the local fishermen coming in with their catch

Room Tip: Family bungalows at the front have the best view and are HUGE

The resort’s interior design was pretty, the bathroom was half outdoor but also pretty and clean. We had a nice breakfast by the beach. The sea in front of the resort had a good snorkeling spot. Overall the resort offers value for money.

Clean, well furnished rooms (including a small fridge) in a beautiful, quiet location on the outskirts of Maumere. Snorkeling decent from the beach on our doorstep and helpful host also arranged a local guide and boat for a day’s snorkeling around islands for our group of 6 for IDR 1300000. Lots of mosquitoes: rooms a haven with good air con, fan and coils but take spray/ cream for outdoors!
