We stayed here for 5 nights and could not fault this hotel at all. The staff were very friendly and service was first class. The hotel has free parking bays in an underground parking area, the entrance to which is nearby. Use google maps or similar to identify it. The rooms are spacious with air conditioning and ours even had a balcony which got the sun in the morning. The beds are large but a bit on the firm side. The breakfast was really good with a decent continental choice, not huge but sufficient to allow a variation over 5 days. There is wifi in reception and once signed in we could access it in our first floor room. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station where you can get a train to Central Florence / Firenze. We used this twice and it was really easy. It is an ideal location for touring Tuscany, which we did. Montelupo itself is quite quiet in the evenings but has a few nice restaurants for dinner etc. plus a couple of ice cream parlours. Highly recommended.

We stayed here in our way to see tuscany and it was a great stay. The room was quiet and extremely clean. The staff very friendly. The breakfast was delicious and it even had free internet and free parking right next to it. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to see tuscany.

I haven't stayed in this hotel, as first approach was very unfriendly! I asked for prices and as I stated that they seamed a bit high in my opinion, the receptionist laughed right into my face! No typical Italian cordiality! I wouldn't recommend this hotel as first impression usually means a lot! There are much nicer hotels and bed and breakfasts in Montelupo. On the same day I visited Camminfacendo Bed and Breakfast and booked it, not only because rooms were very nice, but also because reception was much more friendly and definitely not as impolite as the elder man in Granducato!

Signor Rolando, fluent in several languages (including English), Fannie and Francesco run a lovely, spacious, welcoming, bright, clean hotel. Breakfast: toast, selection of meats, cheeses, cereals, silky-smooth delicious custard, yogurt, pastries, fresh fruit, and cafe'/cappuccino made to order. Il Pianeto and Osteria Livornese are nearby for evening meals. Vezziso's on main town street has fabulous pastries, espresso and panini sandwiches. Located 5 min walk from Pisa-Florence train. Excellent for business travel or quiet well-behaved families.
