The place is good, nice Peruvian food. Chaufa is too huge, I think it's enough for three people, one person can not finish it.

Thank Andrés A

Food was very good. I had a giant plate of all types of seafood, squid, fish, octopus, crayfish, and shellfish. Came with patacone and onions. Huge portions. Visited in July 2015.

The place does not look like much from the outside, but the food is amazing. They serve really great, authentic ceviche and portions are huge (can feed two). They also have a very decent selection of Peruvian beers.

The ceviche is easily en par with the best ceviches I had when traveling Peru and the staff is very attentive.

Can be quite packed for lunch, seems to be a favorite of the more affluent locals. Prices are moderate: R$25 to R$40 for a meal.

Sao Jorge is an essential stop when visiting Leticia - Peruvian ceviche on the main street in Tabatinga, Brazil, a real ttres frontieres experience! This unassuming little restaurant serves up outstanding ceviche, better than any high-priced versions I have had elsewhere, and chicharron, the fried fish nuggets. It is a short walk from the border crossing and there are no border formalities. This was by far the best meal we had after two trips to the Amazon. Don't miss it!

We picked up the mototaxi outside our hotel in Leticia and asked the driver to give us a guided tour of Tabatinga which he readily agreed to do and off we set!! A brief stop for those "one foot either side of the border" photoshoots at the border itself and he began the tour. A fantastic little town and all roads lead to the river, we found ourselves in the Military Museum, Fish Market, the main port and then it was lunchtime and he dropped us off outside the restaurant but we didnt have a clue where we were!! But he said he would be back in two hours to collect us. We were greeted by a member of staff and offered a table out of the sun alongside a mobile fan -fantastic!! Then "dos cerveza muy grande" arrived, huge ice cold bottles of beer quickly followed by the biggest plate of breaded fried fish balls - the size of golf balls -arrived with a variety of sauces and dips, when he said two hours he wasnt kidding as it was going to take us that long to eat this!! Beer finished and fresh ones appeared without asking, it could be a long day. The staff were extremely friendly and professional, the restaurant whilst basic, was clean and well laid out and the price brought a smile of relief, a "must go to" restaurant if you are down in that neck of the woods on either side of the border.
The only downside was my English and Spanish werent understood by the Portugese speaking staff!! Better learn Portugese for the next trip.
