I have my second home in Playa de Santiago and spend between 4 and 5 months a year there and, during this time, I usually go out whale watching with Tina Excursiones twice a week. I must have been on the Tina for well over 200 times and every trip has been a wonderful experience.
We usually see large groups of pilot whales, bottlenose and Atlantic spotted dolphins as well as common dolphins, Bryde's whales, turtles, hammerhead sharks, flyig fish and on occasions we have seen sperm whales and even a blue whale.
From the boat there are spectacular views of the coast and often a couple of osprey can be seen as well as large numbers of cory shearwater.
The excursion lasts 4 hours and includes a stop for swimming at a secluded bay and a freshly prepared lunch of grilled tuna fish and a salad buffet with the typical papas arrugadas and mojos. Just before lunch, sangria is served and there is unlimited water, red and white wine with lunch.
The crew are friendly and very knowledgeable and always try their best to make sure that everyone on board is well looked after. Tina Excursiones offer a couple of different trips and each one is definitely worth doing.
I would advise arriving early to ensure a good seat which, for me, is at the front of the boat but this might not be the best place for people who have not got such good sea legs.
For me, simply the best!!

We choosed Tina for a boat tour where we were supposed to see dolphins and whales. We could see more dolphins during the trip from Tenerife to La gomera with the big boat, than with this small excursion, but this could be just a matter of luck.
In the brochure, Tina says that they will offer a selection of tapas: well, we got in all 3 tiny pieces of bread with tomatoes or tomatoes and guacamole. Considering the price (35 euros), they should have provided at least a bit more food. We were probably at least 30 on the boat... they make quite a lot of money with a bit of fuel and something else should be offered!
Choose another company.

Very attentive and helpful crew on board, we saw a family of Pilot whales very close up, a solitary Bryde's whale and a Loggerhead turtle. Lovely spot for lunch which was nicely served up by the crew though limited choice of bbq Tuna did not hear anyone complaining. Only downside was long trip from our pickup in Playa Santiago up to Grand Rey for the other passengers (of which there were not many). Would still recommend though.

Had excellent day out on Tina on 3 March 2016. We were collected from the breakwater of Playa Santiago early in morning at 9.30. We headed along the coast to Valle Gran Rey to collect some more passengers. The coastline of volcanic rock is layered in interesting geological formations with sheer cliff faces and various secluded bays. Once we'd collected our Valle Grand Rey passengers we headed out south and noticed other small boats in the distant. We had a wonderful sighting of a large pod of pilot whales, with common and bottle nose Dolphins feeding. When we were quite close to them pilot whale pod we had one of there number spy hopping out of the water to see what we were up to. After our whale watching we headed to a secluded bay next to the old tuna processing factory for a nice swim, followed by a great tuna Lunch. I give full marks to Tinas crew and especially the young lady guide and the captan. Super day out.

I just lovjed the tour. In the beginning a nice young woman told us about the animals we might see and gave a brochure about them. After a couple of minutes we already got to see a lot of dolphins and whales. During the whole trip it added up to some birds and different kinds of fishes. We stopped in front of an old fish factory which looked pretty nice. They grilled some fresh tuna and the buffet was delicious. During that break we also got to go into the water. During our way back to the harbor we passed another fish factory and a big bird nest. The lady also gave us some information and pictures about that. :)

It is definitely worth the money. Can't imagine how they could have done it better :)
