Such a beautiful hotel with lovely, large rooms with kitchen nook and balcony with a incredible view to the mountain straight above us. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful and we spent an amazing week here hiking, you can start directly from the hotel to do several amazing hikes! Definitely an amazing island and here is the perfect place to enjoy it!

La Gomera is one of the best of the 6 inhabited Canary Islands - very green and mountainous and only a short ferry trip from Tenerife - and Valle Gran Rey is by far the best small resort on the island. Smart hotel by the sea with excellent large rooms and comfortable beds and many balconies have impressive sea views. Breakfast was the usual buffet affair and can be eaten at outside tables. The small swimming pool on the rooftop is warm (a rare find!) and there are wonderful views from the surrounding solarium, which is well-equipped with sun loungers and parasols. Be warned ... it can get very windy on the roof! The hotel is not cheap and lacks atmosphere in the bar and lounge areas in the evening but there are many restaurants and shops within a very short walk and the brilliant FREE Gomera Lounge Bar has excellent live musicians playing every night and is only one minute walk away! Parking near the hotel was not a problem and a hire car is recommended for trips up the valley and around this beautiful island. We will definitely be returning as soon as possible!

Good modern hotel with large rooms. Great roof top pool. Good breakfast. In walking distance of many bars and restaurants in the tourist part of Calera. Dinner buffet a little limited and not the best but relatively cheap.
