We stayed at The Sandhya during Covid lockdown in Sri Lanka, and their professionalism, service, and dedication was superb.
The hotel is literally on the beach, with direct access to the ideal white sand beach and turquoise water. There are even sime stilt fishermen just infront, competely local and not for tourists.
Rooms are spacious, very nicely decorated, and with incredible view to the garden, hammocks, swimming pool, and beach! The bathroom is nice, with the best shower I have ever seen in a hotel (could easily fit 10 people)!
The menu is very complete and delicious, with enough variety to be able to stay for lunch and dinner in the hotel 5 days without being repetitive.
Also a TV room with Netflix, and tons of games and common spaces within the Boutique Hotel to feel comfortable and very much like home!
Said that, the best of the hotel is the service and the people who makes the experience possible. Thanks to Dan, Naveen, Suresh, Nuradha, and Sunil for making it possible!

First of all I want to thank all of the staff at The Sandhya for the most memorable vacation we could’ve asked for. Nothing was too much or too difficult. The staff continuously went out of their way to make our stay amazing, from going to the local markets daily to supply personalised meals and cocktails, to creating a birthday cake for myself with cocktails as a surprise and even putting balloons and cocktails in the room when we got back also. We were almost in shock how much they did for us. The hotel itself goes without saying. It is beautiful. The decor is second to none. But what made it for us was the staff. We were continuously assisted throughout. All insurances and pcr testing was fully arranged for us, with certificates supplied in both pdf format and printed to make everything easy for us. We were given constant recommendations on what to do throughout the area, and the manager would even call places to ensure they were open for us which was amazing. There was a real personal touch about this hotel. The location is fantastic. Between Weligama and Galle, which means you are only a short tuk tuk ride from either. The beach the hotel is also situated on is probably the most beautiful in the area also. We want to thank all the staff especially Dan the manager, the in house chef who was out of this world. Breakfast like no other and all other members that assisted us throughout the stay. Can’t thank your team enough. People, you won’t be disappointed.
