I visited the chapel while visiting the Kylemore Abbey. The chapel is charming, although the story behind it is tragic. I truly enjoyed the elegance of the Gothic architecture and the sound resonance.

Lovely tribute to a love lost too soon, this is a beautiful church for a quiet moment of reflection in a beautiful setting. The picture above is actually of the nearby mausoleum.

This beautiful, but scaled-down chapel built by J.F. Fuller for Mitchell Henry as a memorial to his beloved wife Margaret is definitely worth the short walk from the main building. The stonework is lovely inside and out and I also loved how the architect incorporated the different types of marble from Ireland's four provinces into the design of the chapel. If you take the path a little further, you will come to the mausoleum where both of the Henry's ashes are.

My sister-in-law and I walked down the path from the Gothic Church to the Mausoleum. It's a quiet place for contemplation and reflection since it is a building for the deceased. It was built to inter the wife of the builder of Kylemore and later for his own ashes.

On a recent visit to Kylemore Abbey, we walked down the path to the mausoleum.
It is an added bonus on the tour of the estate. Very solemn setting with a historical story. Worth visiting.
