My wife and I stayed two nights here and it is a comfortable, well managed hotel Location is fantastic for visiting the Beaujolais vineyards. Bedroom was clean and nicely decorated. Staff were in the main polite and helpful apart from the young man on reception the morning we were leaving. He appeared to be totally disinterested, kept one hand in his pocket almost the whole time he was dealing with us, and had a strange attitude. This was not a good image to leave with after two very pleasant days. Food was good but over priced and there was an interesting wine list. In my mind there is a question mark generally regarding value for money. I think they lack any real competition in the Romaneche-Thorins area, and have a bit of a monopoly.

We arrived there at the last minute and we had a very nice room at the ground floor. We had an enjoyable dinner at the restaurant.Service excellent the owner very attentive and helpful. The hotel is few steps away from the cellar of George Duboeuf and the very ancient railway station.Nice atmosphere of the surroundings. Very close to Fleurie wonderful wine area.

This hotel is situated close to the vineyards of Fleurie, within easy reach of autoroute A6. It has a lovely garden with a swimming pool and has been improved since a recent change of ownership. This was our third visit, and we were not disappointed.

As so many other places, the website, in particular the photos, exaggerate the qualities of the place.

But worse than that, the service is really poor. They seem to be indifferent about their guests. At best, this is expressed by the service being absent, at worse by the service being rude. In particular, this applies to the male receptionist working while we were there. Even asking for something to drink was apparently an insult to him. The cleaning staff were nice and did a good job, though.

The breakfast - which is not included in the room price - is really poor. The dinner is better.

All in all, a stay is not recommendable unless they do something serious about their service level.

We revisited this charming Hotel amoung the vines of Beaujolais. The Reception Staff are always helpful, friendly and speak English very well. Our room was very clean with a very comfortable king bed.At breakfast there is choice of Cafe et Croissants or the full buffet. We chose the small P/D only because we had had such a wonderful dinner the evening before. We do recommend the Charolais beef and the Bresse Chicken both so tender with great flavour. The sole meuniere is just superb. The Maritonnes restaurant is very friendly and professional with a lovely atmosphere thanks to Jennifer and her great Team. She is also a qualified wine Sommelier. The wine list offers excellent local wines as well as wonderful Bordeaux and Burgundies.
Car park is good, safe and only 20 metres from the front doors.Thank you all, looking forward to our next visit.
