Hard to praise Isabel, the hotel manager, highly enough. We were the last guests to leave on the 20th March 2020. All of Spain was on lockdown from, effectively, the 15th. The breakfasts were indeed excellent, as everyone says, but this is about what happened when things got tough. Our flight back was the 20th, and Jet2 (who also responded wonderfully in our experience) kept to the schedule, flying from Tenerife South to Leeds Bradford at 20:10. We'd booked on a Fred Olsen ferry, which disappeared off the schedule on about the 16th, without telling us. Isabel re-booked us on an early one (Spanish website, tricky for us!). She then rang round all the restaurants in Hermigua, and got a solitary one (Cafeteria Garo) to provide takeways; all the rest closed completely. By the 18th and 19th I think he was just cooking for me and my wife. Our hire car had an engine fault - Isabel sorted us with a Plan B to get to the crack-of-dawn ferry. There was a huge picnic waiting for us in the fridge at 6 am, which fed us during the 10 hour wait at the airport.
Maybe there should be a six-star rating available? Isabel (and Jana) we love you.More
