Hotel is nice and standard travelodge style. The bar is very minimally stocked and the eating area is small. There is no restaurant as such but a small kitchen and some tables.
The evening food is awful. Our experience was burnt chips which were uncooked in the middle. Burnt onion rings which were uncooked in the middle. Chicken burger with a hair in it. Burnt pizza.
The chef had no hair net and was dripping with sweat yet the kitchen has a five star hygiene rating. I find that difficult to believe. One meal was forgotten and we had to wait a further half hour.
We paid £80 or thereabouts and probably ate 30% of the food. Yet the chef was so lovely and working hard that we didn’t want to upset her. In hindsight we should have raised it.
That said....the breakfast is lovely. The food appears to be fresh and is hot and well cooked. There is a good choice.
Staff were lovely. Rooms are good.More
