Nothing to note about the hotel facilities, breakfast, restaurant and service. Central base for exploring the French Basque Country. The standard room is nicely decorated and offers plenty of space. The privilège room, however, is somewhat sparse regarding decoration.

we never expected to find a hotel and dining room of this quality in a little village in the Pyrenees. We drove up the beautiful drive to find an oasis of quiet beauty and historic charm. Our room was extremely comfortable and the balcony looked toward the village and mountains. Perhaps the greatest surprise was our wonderful dinner overlooking the gardens, mountains and pool. The wine list was really unexpected and alot of fun to peruse. The choices were vast and fairly priced. Our dinners were delicious and imaginatively presented. The hotel is historic and beautifully maintained and all the public rooms were very comfortable. We wished we could stay longer.

Room Tip: make sure to plan on dining at the hotel--the food, service and setting all contribute to a memorable evening.

Impeccable service, welcoming staff, nice and comfy room, delicious food at the restaurant. The rooms look into gardens and luxurious greenery. The hotel is located just outside the cute Basque city of Ainhoa . Just perfect.

Ainhoa is a lovely Basque village and the hotel is located a short stroll from the pretty main street and is a few kms from Espilette. It is very quiet, the swimming pool is large and set in the manicured and mature gardens overlooked by the restaurant and terrace. The breakfast is basic continental, fruit, cheese, ham, bread, croisants etc. but all good quality. The evening menu is very high quality based on local fresh produce. In the village there are several other restaurants ranging from 1 michelin star to basic. Espilette has another 1/2 dozen at least. However, Ainhoa is VERY quiet so do not go for the nightlife! and the hotel is aptly part of the Relais du Silence chain....no partying until the wee small hours. One great feature is the Armagnac collection...the oldest is an 1872 bottled in 1972 at a totally unaffordable €100 per glass but some of the later ones are both affordable and delicious.

This hotel achieves high standards in everything it does. Comfortable accommodation, pleasant public area both inside and out, superb food, and efficient and helpful staff. In short there is nothing to criticise!

Room Tip: the rooms at the front of the hotel have better views
