Our second stay at this hotel, both times perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean large room and comfortable bed. Dinner was delicious, as was breakfast (although hot food for us fussy English would be nice). Ainhoa is such a pretty, calm village, we shall return.

Location is wonderful, just a few minutes walk from the village of Ainhoa in the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Our bedroom was sumptuous, we had booked as part of a package through Brittany Ferries.

Staff were extremely helpful and the young staff at breakfast who had limited English (why do we expect them to speak English?) but by golly they tried and had obviously been trained to a high level.

A 'posh' hotel but without any awkward or stuffy atmosphere.

The largest swimming pool I have ever seen at a hotel.

Great wooded location, very tranquil, polite, professional yet attentive personnel. Food to die for at a realistic price, full of flavour without being unnecessarily fussy. Good wines that don't require you to re-mortgage your house to enjoy. Rooms were well appointed, clean and airy with septate bathroom and separate toilet. Excellent location for local walks and enjoying the rustic charms of the village. All in all highly recommended a great find. Hope to return an explore some more soon.

What a delightful find! Thank you TripAdvisor!
The hotel sits in a splendid garden setting and is packed with brass, copper and antique furnishings, whilst the accommodations are well appointed and contemporary.
We were greeted by our host, M. Dottax who personally showed us to our room and made sure we were comfortable.
We chose to dine in and were treated to attentive service and delicious local cuisine. The Pigeon was a first for us, tender with a delicate flavour.
We also ordered a homemade Gateau Basque to take home with us. It didn't last too long though! Yum!
The Basque Country is beautiful and deserves more time than we had to spare. So, a revisit could well be on the cards, and Argi Eder will be our accommodation of choice.

The hotel was extremely easy to find, it is well signed from the town, but be aware that the signs are at a low level. the hotel is about five minutes from the town, but beautifully situated and very quiet.
The staff were extremely helpful, and could not do enough to help and could all speak excellent English and tolerated our attempts at French very well!
There was a good car park very close to the hotel, and the rooms were were very comfortable and beautifully maintained.
There was a large swimming pool which we did not use.
The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard as was the service, with some excellent local wines at reasonable prices and an excellent range of Armagnacs. In the three days we were there the menus did not change but we found enough options to suit us admirably.

Room Tip: We had a room at the front of the hotel, which had a balcony with chairs and a view of the hills.
