We stayed in Marigot Bay for 2 weeks, and were thrilled to discover Masala Bay restaurant. On our first visit, my husband and I were with our daughter and 3 of her friends. Most of us are not that familiar with Indian cuisine, but one of the girls is of Indian heritage and helped us all with the menu selections (it is actually a fusion menu of Indian and Chinese Hakka cuisine). The food was a big hit! We loved that they served small, complimentary bites to start. The background music is appealing, the restaurant decor is warm and welcoming and very colorful. The restaurant is on the second level overlooking the dock with a lovely outside balcony. The girls loved it so much they requested a return visit on their final night and we returned the following week with our son. Our favorite dishes were the samosa chat and prawn appetizers, the butter chicken, stir fry fish, hakka noodles. Vegetable croquettes in the cashew sauce were amazing. I was not as much a fan of the vegetable dumplings. My husband ordered the kheer for dessert every time -- his favorite! We were there on the night of their one year anniversary where they handed out bangle bracelets and candies. We were very warmly greeted with each visit, and the cook came around to all the tables checking on our happiness. We had a great experience there.

Dear Connecticuttraveler6,

Many thanks for taking your time to write this descriptive review of your dining experience with us at MB.You are right. Indo Chinese Fusion cuisine is being done for the first time in St Lucia and is already very popular with diners. Our guest already loved the Indian cuisine we have been doing for some years now at Spice of India and now adding this cuisine to MB has added to that experience. We appreciate you taking your time to let us know about your time with us and also for even remebering the items you had from the menu.

Staff are very proud of what they do at MB and also at SOI and it shows in reviews like yours which is very motivating.

Many thanks and best regards,
Chef Adil,
Masala Bay and
Spice of India

A group of 10 ladies visited Masala Bay for a birthday celebration. Our server, Tamara, was super patient and knowledgeable as concerns the menu. She took time to explain items to us and het warm, genuine smile was contagious. The food was exquisite as well and we loved that the spices were tailored to suit our taste buds. What intrigued me as well was the authentic Indian wash basin! I loved dining at Masala bay and we will definitely be back!

We stayed at Marigot bay for 2 weeks and were spoilt for choice in terms of restaurants, however, we kept coming back to this one because it was perfect in every way. Firstly, the setting, overlooking the bay was stunning (but then again, that's not exactly a unique selling point at Marigot). What was outstanding though was the first class service by friendly staff who made you feel very welcome. They were very happy to discuss the different dishes on the menu and offered to make changes to suit individual needs as required. When we ordered our food on our first visit, we asked for 2 rice sides, but were advised that one would be enough between the two of us. I liked that, because it would have been easy to add a few extra dollars to their bill at our expense - the prices were very reasonable too in comparison to the other restaurants in the area so Masala delivered on value for money too. The food itself was superb (after the complimentary mini-starter - a nice touch) and if you enjoy indian/chinese food, I fail to see how you can be anything but impressed by the flavours and spices that the chef manages to pack onto your plate. Another bonus was that I didn't leave the restaurant with that bloated feeling you often get when eating at establishments of a similar nature. The restaurant is currently rated number 1 at Marigot Bay and I can see why - this view was echoed by most of the guests we met at out hotel during our stay who similarly enjoyed dining there on multiple occasions. Just Do it - you won't regret it!

Dear FraPJ,

Thanks for such beautifully written descriptive review of your experience with us at MB. Thanks also for pointing out the smaller details like staff suggesting what is right and not just trying to get extra dollars from you. We appreciate you writing all aspects of your dining experience with us and thanks for adding to the Number One position on the island. This makes us very proud and work harder to maintain our status. We are launching a brand new extended menu soon with many favorites still on the menu. Looking forward to seeing you and your recommendations.

My family and I dined here during our recent stay at the Capella hotel in Marigot Bay. Masala Bay is just a short walk from the resort. The food was excellent, the restaurant is clean, and I was really struck by how friendly and helpful the staff were. We met the manager, Mr. Govind Joshi, and he went out of his way to make us feel welcome and at home. Definitely worth a stop if you happen to be in the area.
