Great place to sit and enjoy the harbor views. The patio is not fancy, but it's large an accommodating. Good wine and beer selections and all the entrees looked excellent.

We came upon this place by chance one lunch time while doing the circular walk round the island. Very busy but we were served quickly by excellent staff. Extensive menu, although we went for modules frites for speed. Great location by a tiny inlet and harbour. Good ambience. Recommended. Worth a detour.

Drinks are served in what felt like an over crowded mini golf with plastic grass overlooking the parking lot -- even when the terrace overlooking the beautiful port was empty.

Disgraceful!

It was 2 hours before dinner and we were only planning on a quick drink so a minimum of communication could have made a huge difference but this place goes by the rules only. No humanity.

Never again -- even for dinner.

We visited with friends on a perfect June Monday, but didn't have a reservation. We were lucky because it was already quite full but we were fairly early having taken the 0930 ferry from St Gilles, checked into our hotel and rented an electric car. The following day we cycled here but were not so lucky. They don't seem to serve drinks if you don't eat. I had Patogos (large clams served rather like mussels) with frites. They were delicious washed down with half a litre of Pression. The Bar is situated on one of the prettiest harbours on the island. No ferries, only fishing, diving and pleasure boats. It is about half way along the south westerly coast of the island, and must experience some severe winter storms facing to its nearest landfall in the Caribbean. We were lucky with the weather as there had been light northerly winds for a few weeks. There is no pollution on this rocky coast so the blue ocean water was as clear as the Caribbean. Wet suited free divers complete with spear guns often operate here. Obviously you can eat inside in bad weather. We will bring our snorkelling gear in September when the water should be a few degrees warmer than its current 13 degrees, air temperature was 26 degrees. Service was good and cheerful. On the right day this is a wonderful place, and probably on other days too. The Bar is situated about half an hours walk from the Medieval Vieux Chateau, a must see on the island.

Great sea food, also French specialties like Foie Gras, good service (but a little slow due to the number of people that day), do not forget to reserve your table
