they always surprise with typical istrian food and fruits. Mandarines, dry plums, dry figues, home made pasty with apples, ... home made bread...

We looked for a place to have a quick lunch at 2PM before going to the beach in the afternoon, and thought where could we do both? Well, we thought of Villa Rosetta (part of the hotel with the same name) restaurant, which is just about 100 meters from a nicely managed and clean Zambratija beach.

We were warmly welcomed on the beautiful (at that hour almost empty) terrace of the hotel Villa Rosetta, surrounded by flowers, well shaded from the August sun and with a slight breeze and sound of the waves (you can easily eat here outside all the way up to 32 degrees celsius I'd say). We checked out the restrooms that are really well kept and clean, and so seems the entire restaurant and the hotel as well.

To start, we got a tasty treat from the kitchen as couvert - a bit of red salmon and sole pate as well as a couple of sardoni each. Very nice, and there was some warm bread from the kitchen as well. With it we tried some owners' branded extra virgin olive oil, and we liked it.

The lady serving us was doing a really nice job: attentive, informative, energetic, but not intrusive. Well done.

We ordered two pasta dishes, one with sole fish and chili and the other "Rosetta" style, meaning with shrimp, gamberi and clams. Both pastas were a positive surprise - they were exquisite! The open local Malvasia white wine (served by glass) was of good quality, and there is a decent wine list as well.

To sum it up, we really enjoyed this place, for the food and the service. The restaurant is otherwise mainly oriented towards sea food, and as we only had time and hunger for a little pasta, we will sure come to try this place, and perhaps the hotel as well, again.

We have been here many times. This restaurant is in an elegant Vila Rosetta hotel. Almost all the restaurant guests are hotel guests, mostly Italian and German speaking.

Restaurant has a beautiful outdoor terrace. The servers are attentive and helpful. The owner comes and greets the guests, which makes the guests feel good. The food is well presented but the taste is just average. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. It is pricey, too. Wine list is very good and Degrassi local wine is great. Hotel makes its own excellent grappa.

The receptionist in the hotel and the server in the inside bar have an awful attitude. Avoid them if you have a chance.

We were staying in this very pleasant hotel and decided one evening to eat in the hotel restaurant.

The restaurant itself is very attractive and the service throughout was good with great attention to detail quite possibly because the owners are continuously on the premises.

For first course we chose scallops which were delicious followed by two pasta dishes which were excellent. I wish we had been hungrier and I wish we had eaten here our first night. By the way the restaurant might be found under the name Maruzza.
