Review of La Falua

La Falua
Ranked #1 of 4 Restaurants in La Lajita
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$4 - US$26
Description: La Falua Restaurant in La Lajita is a unique place where you can enjoy delicious food in a calm atmosphere away from hotel resorts. Our fantastic homemade dishes, all prepared faultlessly, are created with fresh produce. A lot of importance is placed on regional products from local farmers and fishermen.

We ate here twice on our week holiday on the island. The menu is very imaginative with a good choice for my coeliac husband. I ordered the burger on our first visit and it was delicious but huge and I have to confess it defeated me!
Second visit I had the goat which was sublime, tender and absolutely gorgeous. We would highly recommend La Falua and we hope to return

First of all, the chef can cook, there is no doubt. But... La Falua seems that they can not decide whether to be fancy place or a a honest local fish restaurant. And now it is something between, which is not good every time. Chef is trying to be creative, but sometimes it just ends up with strange, disharmonic combinations of taste - octopus (a little too chewy) with couliflower head... well, ok, why not. But kill it with strong mustard vinaigrette-like sauce was faux-pas. Guys, you know the job, but keep it simple and local, rather than serve wannabe haute-cousine stuff.

The food is amazingly fresh and tasty. The staff is polite and speaks many different languages. Quiet area right next to the beach.

We go to La Falua whenever we visit the Southern part of the island. The owners are from Poland and their food is absolutely amazing (and not expensive at all).
Honestly, try it. Their salads taste great and the fish soup is the best fish soup you can get on the island, Not a big menu, but whatever you order and get is perfectly prepared.

Very nice service, even if not authentic Canary, lovely settings. Great fish soup and original, tender fried octopus with cauliflower!
