This is a very worthwhile experience, a chance to see wild penguins do what they do naturally. The kids really enjoyed this. Make sure you take a blanket or something to sit on as the benches are quite cold and hard and it can get quite cold and windy even on quite nice days so grab a jacket too.

Booked this and got the VIP ticket which meant guided talk, tour, coffee and access to the ranger's own outlook beach house.binoculars to scan the beach Followed by exclusive use of the deck to watch the penguins coming back to their nests. Literally inches away from them at times and all under the milky way.
Truly memorable

If you want a quiet night, watching cute little penguins walk across the beach, this is not the place. There are way too many tourists there, it was ridiculous. So many people pushing and shoving and not following ANY of the rules that the rangers were putting forth. I applaud all the rangers for being calm and keeping their cool when continually telling people to put their cameras away. Because there is no way I would be able to stay calm! Some people are just so disrespectful and would not listen to anything the rangers were saying. I think if this establishment put a limit on the amount of people allowed in per night, it would be such a better experience. It was nice to see the penguins going into their burrows but they would be so stressed with the amount of people there were and the flashing of cameras going off. I wouldn’t book to see them again.

One of my favourite visits.. the penguins are so adorable!!
It was a tad crowded but that’s because everyone was trying to get their selfies done!! We then went to the beach there, which was equally as lovely. All very clean and the sea was beautifully clear, so I braved a paddle!!.
I would definitely recommend a visit, just be patient if it’s busy.. there are only so many selfies one can take :)

I was so excited to see the Penguins I remember coming here as a child....I was really disapointed at the amount of people the Parade vendors literally squashed in to this event....(thought it was about the Penguins not a money making exercise) the tourists were asked time and time again to stay away from certain places and not to take fotos but that was never heeded.....such disrespect !!
There were far to many people literally 1,000's for it to be really enjoyable....every time a raft of cute penguins came into shore the rude tourists would immediatly stand up thus blocking the views for the rest of us....we came early thinking to secure a good spot..which was really silly in hindsight as the late comers just squashed in where they felt like or where the "Rangers" ushered them ....very annoying to get there so early only to have a ranger plonk hundreds of people in front of u ...so rude ..when u finally do get to see the Penguins they are so far away and it's so dark u can barley see them....I recommend to bring binoculars and rug up as it was freezing !!!.
They stress it's all about preserving the Penguins ....it's not its all about the money ......
On the upside it was a beautiful place thru the day as we went there too ...good amenities and easy access walk to the viewing area....
Penguin Parade u really need to take a look at how many people u stuff into one viewing ....it really was far too many people to be enjoyable ....we left very early and disapointed.
