I’m a big fan of private tours with local guides guides because they are ALL SO GREAT, and have used them all over Europe so I was excited to find David in Bora Bora and his HALF DAY DISCOVER TOUR was among the first excursions I booked for our big anniversary trip.

David set a new high bar for private guides in my book with his kind and excellent job showing us the wonders of the sea around Bora Bora. He picked us up in his comfortable boat directly from our hotel dock and we set off. After just a short drive we stopped at our first snorkeling spot where we saw some amazing colorful fish and even a huge moray eel. He then learned of a sighting of a massive manta ray-quite unexpected- that was nearby and we snorkeled just above it, watching it glide around the clear sea for at least 20 minutes; quite a spectacle.

The tour of the lagoon continued and we learned a lot about the islands and its history before stopping at a crystal clear coral garden ( which we had all to ourselves) and glided lazily taking in hundreds of tropical fish, clams and more-simply breath taking! Then after further touring the lagoon, going past all the resorts we arrived at the final snorkel spot where we floated above a school of 5 eagle rays, again in crystal clear water for quite some time.

Oh, and did I mention he was also generous enough to take a bunch of underwater photos for us (my go pro knock off broke day two of our trip) and provided us with the memory chip afterwards. Unexpected and very nice.

HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

If you only do one activity in Bora Bora, it needs to be this!

We were passengers on a cruise ship stopping in Bora Bora and wanted to do some snorkeling away from the crowd. Saw reviews for H20 Bora Bora here and made a reservation.

Communication was excellent, and we were picked up on time at the pier. We were the only customers that afternoon, which meant it was more expensive than we had hoped, but, we received David's undivided attention.

David took us to four different sites, with different types of undersea environments. He clearly knows where to look for the best aquatic life. He was polite, helpful, and knowledgeable, and is also very personable. Although French is his native language, his English is completely fluent and communication is very easy.

We saw large rays in one spot, although not the giant Manta rays that David had seen earlier that day. In other spots, we saw a myriad of colorful fishes and clams. David was always in the water close to us, and was quick to point out interesting fish or other objects which we might otherwise not have seen.

In summary, it was a fantastic afternoon adventure, and I highly recommend H20 Bora Bora.

We did a full day tour with David and it was worth every penny. He and his wife worked with us before hand and tailored the excursion to suit our interests.

We did an Intro to Diving in the morning and snorkled the rest of the day. We went all over the lagoon and some outside.

We were spoiled enough to see gorgeous coral,a turtle, sharks, rays and a moral eel (which my boyfriend got to pet!) just to name a few. Not to mention the wonderful instruction during the dive! He made it so easy to learn and we felt at ease in the water in no time.

We were interested in trying to see humpbacks and we left the lagoon to try in the afternoon. We did spot one! She was on the move but it was still awesome :)

We had amazing conversations and I would absolutely recommend David to anyone! I think he is a go to! Aimee is also great in email response and she is so friendly!

Thank you two for helping to make Bora Bora so memorable for us! We hope to meet again !

Totally recommendable!
Very friendly and caring family business, trying to fulfill all personal wishes. Only small groups (2-4 people) causing a very familiar and private atmosphere at prices you’d normally not even get on those crowded touristy tours.
Thumbs up!

We had an absolutely amazing and outstanding morning tour with David. Surprisingly there are still some hidden places in the Bora Bora lagoon - and David brought us exactly to these spots! We were the only ones in the entire area while swimming with schools of eagle rays and discovering a coral garden with breathtaking abundance of colors, corals and fish.
David is extremely friendly guy, explains a lot. Excellent communication and booking. Picked us up at the agreed time. He even shared super nice pictures he took during our trip via email the same evening

Thank you David for a spectacular day out. What a highlight for us and a massive tick on my bucket list to see Eagle Rays, large Manta Rays, the coral gardens and you tickle the chin of a few Moray Eels
