Positive:
I got an OK price for two nights in a decent 3-bed room with excellent bathroom, and a balcony with view over the parking lot and dunes. The location is unbeatable if you are bringing your four-legged friend(s), since this hotel is within short walking distance to the dogs-allowed part of the beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel looked well-kept and clean overall.

Negative:
This was the only hotel on our journey that made a security precharge on my credit-card (in case we break something). The hotel charges 22,50 euro per dog per night, which ran up to 45 euro for two nights - more than I have ever paid. For this, it does not provide anything other than a paper bag with a handful of low quality dogfood and a few plastic poopbags. Other hotels either charge a fixed "dog in room" fee per stay, or let them stay free of charge. Hotel parking is also pricey at 22 euro per night, and you need to remember to book it in advance, since we barely managed to squeeze in for our second night. A 10,20 euro per night city tax was added to the bill on checkout.

We did not eat at the hotel, or use the pool and beach amenities.

Room Tip: Room 117 was a bit noisy around 8 in the morning because of deliveries, but otherwise really quiet.

Thank you very much for your review! Your compliments about our location, the rooms and our staff are very much appreciated. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us.

We do understand your points regarding the extra costs, and we would like to clarify this further; We charge a fixed fee per night for all guests who would like to bring the dog and we use this for cleaning the room. The city tax is a government tax which need to be paid by all people who are staying overnight in The Hague. We pay this to the government and do not make money on this.
Unfortunate, in the big cities it is impossible to park for free. If you decide to stay with us again, it might be an option to park your car at parking ‘Zwarte Pad’. This is within 10 minutes walking distance and will cost 21.70 per 24 hour. Another option is Parking Strand also within 10 minutes walking at this will cost 19.20 per 24 hours.

Again thank you for your review and we hope to see you again at Carlton Beach.

The hotel has had its best time but given price this is acceptable. Service is ok and the spa facilities quite nice. The reason for a one star only is the noise from the next door beach club and the response from the staff on this. “We are very sorry but the neighbours have a permit until 0:30 am... even on a Tuesday night! No attempt to move us to a room on the other side, earplugs etc. This is probably good if your young, on holiday and do not mind a bit of music, but definitely not a place for a business trip, family destination or simply where you go and expect a good night rest... we are leaving tomorrow earlier than planned with two grumpy kids

Check-in was friendly and efficient, and the room was clean and spacious. I loved the views of the sea and the pier; the offer of a free mobile for the duration of my stay was a nice touch. With lots of nearby eating places, shopping and sites to see, this was the perfect place to unwind after a long working day. However, a little more variety on the breakfast menu would be welcome.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views of the sea and are also quieter

We stayed 4 nights, reasonable room rates on a 4 night deal, very clean rooms, quiet room, great view although the weather variable but a couple sunny days, staff friendly service, tasty breakfast. Spa was very clean but overcrowded. We found the food and drinks little bit expensive but you pay for the good location on the beach. Only negative was the car parking. If you arrive after 7 pm no spaces left. I think the hotel should give priority to guests. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Thank you so much for sharing this words with other travelers, very much appreciated and we are happy to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us! Regarding the parking, we do give priority to guests who are staying at the hotel. Unfortunately we have 180 rooms and 80 parking spaces and we are sorry that the parking was full during your arrival. Luckily there are 2 parking’s close by the hotel, within a short walking distance, if our parking is fully booked.

Thank you again for your review and we hope to see you again at Carlton Beach!

The hotel is very old & furniture is also old.
Room was not wide. Bathroom is made of sliding glass door & it was very noisy & doesn’t slide easily.
Every beach bed costs around 8 € per day.
The elevator was not working on the last day & i had to carry doen my luggage 5 floors.
