We visited in high season and the hotel was full- we had a room with a view overlooking the thermal pools and gardens and the hillside beyond which was magical.
The room itself was small and the ‘double ‘ bed was two singles pushed together.
There was a lovely quirky feel to the hotel where the staff recognise you and some real oddities such as no room service and a bar that only opens on a Monday - apparently because you can go to the bar owned by the hotel across the street !
Breakfast was an excellent Buffet and dinner was good but frankly too much food . The wine list is extensive.
As it was high high season we struggled to get a seat in the restaurant close to the window looking out onto the most magical view
Perhaps it was language difficulties but the handling of our request for a window seat at dinner - not possible - did not make us feel very valued .
The setting and thermal pools are the magical aspect of this place.
One small niggle was the handling of damage to our laundry - with the response this does not normally happen- but nothing else .
A lovely hotel with a quirky feel.
