I've already written about this great restaurant in my review of the hotel, but the food and hospitality is so good that it's worth giving it a separate review. On a cold December night, I tucked into pasta with wild boar sauce, succulent roast rabbit with herb- and onion-flavoured potato-purée, and for dessert a "bavarese agli agrumi", a kind of mousse made with fresh citrus-fruit, light and delicious. Add to that a large carafe of good house wine, a litre of sparkling water and coffee, the whole lot for 20€. Incredible value and real quality. The place was packed with locals! No wonder. The décor is a little cold, though that is more than compensated for by the warmth and friendliness of this family-run establishment. On long summer evenings, it would be a wonderful spot to enjoy the panoramic view over the Val d'Orcia.
