First, we were greeted by smiling receptionist which to me, is the best start of a hotel stay. The room given to us was a connecting room. The room and bathroom were huge! The view from our room was magical in the snowy February but people walking outside would have a clear view of our room if the curtains were not drawn. The beds were comfy and we had a good night sleep. The only cons was that we could hear the conversations and TV noises from the other connecting room if the volume was loud.

We didn't try the warm pool but had our dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The food was overall quite good but could be on the salty side. We could see the warm pool from one side of the restaurant.

We returned at the weekend after a week via Inghams at the Holiday Club Saariselka. It was a lovely holiday. Our room had a settee and a very welcome kettle. The breakfast has excellent choice. The evening meal is basic but well cooked and presented. Also if it becomes repetitive you can do as we did and eat in the a la carte restaurant. We just booked giving our room number and Inghams and this automatically takes €11 per person of the bill. The pizza we had in the was lovely. I have a zero tolerance allergy but the staff were very helpful in the restaurant.

One downside is the amount of chinese guests who were on b and b. However they took in to their rooms vast quantites of food and had several rice cookers plugged in. Consequently the corridor had a very distinct chinese take away smell.

Room tip: Ground floor refurbished superior room

We went to Finland hoping to see Finnish life and we did just that! We did not use any of the ammenities on the property as we wanted more of a local feel. The room was clean and furnished with all the basics needed for a week vacation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin apt. They furnished instruction manuals for washer and dryer which we needed to read, as we don't speak Finnish and the appliances are different from the US. The check in staff was very helpful in locating local activities, grocery, and electric converters. We rented a car which is needed unless you want to utilize bus service. There is a shuttle bus from airport to resort, and a Hop on Hop off shuttle for local skiing resorts. Can rent ski equipment right on property. We drove up to Northern Norway to see the Northern lights/Arctic Ocean, and down to Sweden for lunch, stopped at Artic Circle Santa Village. Very easy to get around on main road. We shopped at local S Market in Ivalo, and also at K Market in Saariselka for groceries. Food and drink are VERY EXPENSIVE in Finland even at grocery. Local food is Salmon soup or Reindeer - both are a must try. Highly recommend Husky and Co for Dog sledding and snowmobile safaris. We had seen good reviews for them, and agree with all! They are located across the street from the resort. Within walking distance is a small shopping area for souveniers/grocery/restaurants/bar. The local Pub across the street was very friendly - make sure you try an "Original Gin" - it is a local drink to Finland. Also able to walk to National park area that had walking trails, snow shoe trails, and over 200 km of cross country skiing. Also located in park is an Aurora hut if you get lucky enough to have clear skies. Just Beautiful! The only negative we have is the sleeping arrangement. Both bedrooms had 2 twin beds in it. Very uncomfortable to sleep in side by side twins when you're a couple. Also beds were very hard. I slept on the couch 1 night.

I went with a family and relative group of seventeen. This hotel’s restaurant interior is amazing, the basement has an actual water park with water slides and wave pool and several saunas! I was honestly impressed by it and would recommend it to families or couples!
Cleanliness was also great.

If I were to nit-pick The buffet dinner and breakfast HAS to improve a lot to match the overall hotel expectation. The food variety is boring and bland. But I’ll still rate my overall stay 5 stars.

5 of us stayed in a villa, Saariselkä 2, Kelotähti, B51 and had a great time. We stayed for a week. We drove huskies, snowmobiles, went walking, downhill and cross-country skiing and of course enjoyed the odd breakfast at the hotel and its spa facilities. The apartment was 87m2 and was just right for 5 of us. The master bedroom had ensuite facilities and was reasonably priced. We chose Top Safaris as our activity provider and they were very good. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to others too. Hopefully it wont be too long before we return. Kiitos Paljon,

Room tip: pay for the spa for every day of your stay when you arrive it's cheaper!
