The view from the balcony is absolutely fabulous. The room was tinyish but enough for the two of us. Beds were more than comfortable which was highly appreciated after the day’s walk. Welcoming personnell and nice meals.

We spend 5 nights in this scenery hotel. Views are amazing. Cleanliness high level. Bathroom well working. Sauna with views was perfect. Breakfast very good. Service great level. Restaurant Kaunis is excellent for dinner.Lobby bar with fire place is very nice. I can recommend to Lapland fans.
We spent one night in this hotel and were shocked to find the hotel pretending to be a 4-star hotel - absolutely ridiculous!
The room costs around 450 Euro (or more) for one night. You think you can expect something...
- The staff was very unfriendly and disinterested and is constantly hanging around at the bar. They do not think it is necessary to serve the customer's needs.
- The room was not clean at all. There were cigarette butts everywhere and it was dirty from the previous customers. The snow is not cleared away - we do not want to know how older guests are doing, as the staff does not help you with the luggage.
- You hear every word and every step from your neighbor. Be happy if you have quiet neighbors.
- Below the rooms, there are service rooms and staff rooms. Music and noise until 3 o’clock in the night. Sleep before 3 am is out of the question.
- Everything is cheaply furnished. Ikea furniture in a 4-star hotel is a joke. Besides that, everything is cheaply built.
- Breakfast at a four-star hotel was a disaster. The food was cold, not even the table was set, no beverages were served at the table (tea/coffee), which is standard for a 4-star hotel.
The only good thing is the view (if you are lucky and the weather is good...). Better spend your money somewhere else. Absolutely not worth it. We have basically not very high standards, but if you pay 450 Euro for one night you definitely expect something else. Total rip-off.
Lovely secluded spot, lots of parking available. Breakfast was nice with lots of seating. The restaurant menu was not so good so we went into town to eat which was worth it as its only a short drive.
It was a snow storm when we arrived in the evening and out room door kept freezing and sticking which was annoying. There was a phone in the room but no indication which number called reception...good job we had a mobile as we were stuck in our room with a frozen lock!!
We had a sauna but no instructions how to use.
The room was nice, spacious and well equipt. Nice napkins given with the hotel and aurota picture which was nice. There was a clothes dryer in the room which was great!!
A bit annoying that all the snowmobiles park right ouside the balconies and so you lose some privacy and have to close the blinds. I would stay here again.
We are third time visitors back to the glorious Star Arctic hotel and we will be back again. The location is breathtaking, the welcome the warmest, the ambience of the place has a cool vibe yet homely and the beds are so so comfy. Rooms brilliantly equipped and serviced and spotlessly clean. It’s the team at Star Arctic that make it stand out from the crowd though. Juha, the Hotel Manager has assembled a fantastic team at Star Arctic, who were attentive, great fun and very professional. George, Signe and Igor in the restaurant were fabulous ( please see other review for how amazing the restaurant is!), receptionists were so welcoming and helpful, calling ahead to the ski resort to make sure it was open before ordering a taxi for us, Daniel who was in charge of housekeeping checked in with us to make sure everything in our room was to our satisfaction ( it was!) and wonderful Carlos who took us out adventuring on snowmobiles where we put the world to rights and had a jolly good laugh along the way too. Everything about this place is a joy and a wonder including the luck we had with 4 nights of the Aurora showing up at the top of the fell, 2 minutes walk from the hotel. We have friends who now visit Star Arctic too and they love it as much as we do. If you are lucky enough to have a holiday this year, visit this place!
We had a fantastic 4-night-stay in a Aurora-glass-cabin.
The cabin offered a marvellous view and was very well heated (by floor-heater and window-heater) and extremely cosy.
The interior is scandinavian chic - modern, reduced and technically fully equipped.
We were able to see Aurora twice directly out of our bed (of course always depending on weather-conditions).
The hotel-staff (driver, reception, restaurant, housekeeping) were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast and dinner were delicious and offered a wide range of tastes.
It was great to step out of the cabin right into the snowy and wide landscape. The location on the hill is just perfect.
We must admit that it is very expensive, but absolutely worth it.
Thank you to Clara, Georgios, Ida, Igor, Jenna, Kalle, Signe and the rest of the team.
Kind regards from Berlin,
S&T
