We loved are warm cozy cabin with heated floors. What an amazing place to stay and see the Northern Lights. Our cabin was warm and spaciouse with heated glass windows that melted the snow for easy viewing of the Northern Lights. We enjoyed our deliouse buffet breakfast and dinner.

The facilities were excellent. The staff extremely good. The whole experience was amazing.
The hotel offers buzzers which buzz at night if the lights are active. I'd recommend this everyone- it was most useful.
We did some of the activities they offered.

Only one complaint - the overalls they give us to wear are not cleaned between 2 users- they are very smelly.

Me and my fiancé stayed here for two nights. The place is absolutely magical. We were told that March was the best time to come. We had clear weather and saw the Northern Lights. The says we’re long too! As it was coming to end of season, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was as if we had hired the whole complex out at times. Just bliss.

The cabins have such an amazing feel to them. Even though small, you could cozy up in there all day and night.

Make sure you stay in cabins 1-20. This will
Mean you are at the top of the hill. if you get your hands on a couple of toboggans, you can slide down to breakfast lunch and dinner everyday!!

With Saariselkä on your doorstep, I recommend using huskey & co to book excursions as it is cheaper and they give an amazing experience. Also don’t forget to visit the local pub!

We booked our rooms way in advance, almost a half year ahead. The bad thing is that there is NO REFUND if you cannot make it for whatever reason, so be very certain that it is a trip you can make, or get the necessary insurance.

The location is fantastic for catching the lights, which we saw on all 3 nights we were there, both from the room as well as out on activities.

The cabins are very nice and spacious, exactly as advertised. Hot water is limited to about 12 minutes before you have to wait for a reheating. The layout is simple, with the focus being on the heated glass windows through which you can view the lights at night from the cozy comfort of your bed!

We got a package which included full board and some activities. The food provided was decent and tasty. The activities we got with our package were a half-hour reindeer sleigh ride, a snowmobile hunting trip and a husky ride, and we opted for an additional heated sleigh ride aurora hunting trip, which turned out to be the biggest disappointment.

The reindeer express was relaxing and simple, a slow ride along some paths near the property itself. The husky activity was the most fun despite all the dog poop! The snowmobile activity was OK, but as the group was big, the ride was slower and this makes the snowmobiles harder to control so it can be quite tiring.

The activity I would not recommend at all is the so-called heated sleigh ride to go aurora hunting. This is because the sleigh is nothing but a covered box with hard wooden seats, and the only "heat" I could discern was from the smoky fumes of the snowmobile pulling us, which was really quite nauseating and made breathing a real issue. It was a really awful experience cooped up in a tiny hearse-like space smelling the smoke issuing from the snowmobiles.

We booked the 3 night, four day romantic package with an added activity to visit a Husky farm and it was truly spectacular. The temperatures were low but the cabins and restaurant are warm and they provide you with ski suits, gloves and boots for the activities. 10 minutes hot water in the shower is more than sufficient and the food was good with lots of home made soups, stews and vegetables which are perfect for the weather. All the staff were friendly and helpful with a particular mention to Ivo who took us walking with snowshoes and made us our romatic dinner in the woods. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights both nights but the experience was enhanced by his company and enthusiasm for his job. The same goes for Tyne (not sure if that is spelt right) who took us out on the snowmobiles. I would advise taking mittens instead of gloves as your hands stay warmer and if you book a sauna for private use, the use is private but the area isn't so don't be surprised if people wander in while you are in the hot tub.The best cabins are 1-20 as although they are slightly further from the restaurant (less than 5 minutes walk) they have a view of the forest and are completely private. The town is a 5-10 minute walk away for if you want to go to a local bar or supermarket and the alcohol prices are what you would expect in a hotel of this category. A bottle of cava was 26€
