What a lovely little place Outokumpu. This bed and breakfast manor is near the old mines. Kaija is excellent host. Rooms are clean and beds are really comfy. Breakfast they serve freshly karelianpies and you can have also pancakes for breakfast. Kaija can also tell you interesting thing about Outokumpu.

I stayed for one night at the Kyykerin Kartano. When I arrived the place looked closed. I had not made a reservation and was not sure I would be able to stay. I called Kaija and explained the situation and she said she could come and check me in!
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I slept really well.
I do not know how i is when it is full, but I can imagine it is noisier.
The breakfast was great and felt like I was in a home cottage rather than in a hotel.
Highly recommend!
A lovely little hostel/b&b in an old manor in Outokumpu. The hostess is lovely and the breakfast is absolutely delicious! No bathroom in the rooms but there are plenty in the halls. Notice that the walls are thin as it is an old building, so if you are a light sleeper, remember to bring your ear plugs with you.
