We enjoyed our spacious Bure with views of the lush garden of flowers and trees overlooking the Pacific and the Coral Coast Reef. Lots of things to do from walking the beach to kayaking and many other choices. The activities are always lots of fun! We found Crusoe's Retreat tranquil and relaxing. All of the staff and incredible and make you feel welcome. I give then 12 Stars! The food was amazing! Fresh papaya and pineapple, the Lovo Pit is a must! Love the Mongolian BBQ! We made many new friends and hope to see them again.

Words cannot express the beauty, peacefulness and friends made at this wonderful part of the world. We traveled to a paradise that was so relaxing. Chilled out, fished, swam the warm fish filled seas, relaxed then fished and swam again, plus ate wonderful food. The chef cooked our fish we caught YUM!! We met so many oh so friendly people as they say we arrived as a guest then left as friends/family. The villagers and staff all call out "Bula" and are such genuine people with such a welcoming smile each day.... Vinaka from Sam and Dianne

I spent 3 days at the resort over Christmas. The positives - quiet, peaceful, gorgeous location, stunning views. The negatives - the food, the staff, the run down bure. I notice looking back on tripadviser that people have been complaining about the food for years so clearly there is no intention of doing anything about it. LImited (sometimes no) choices - Christmas Eve was a buffet (no other option) with several meats and salads, nothing special. Christmas Day lunch was basically the leftovers from the night before, no other option. Given the resort´s location, unless you have a car and are prepared to go some distance, there are no other options for eating. Most of the staff seemed disinterested and the bure I was in was poorly maintained and looked in desperate need of reburbishment. The massage was wonderful and so well priced.

We arrived after having one week in a fancy 4/5* resort. We had a chalk and cheese moment when we first arrived. Crusoe's is very rustic - think you have to go with the flow. It's like you are staying with a big lovely family - I liked that.
Awesome place if you just want to relax, not see anyone ie a Retreat
Would recommend a car - its good to have a drive up and down the coast.
You can pop into any hotels for food & drinks...
The bures with no air-con were a bit of a challenge, so go for one with air-con it will make all the difference. The staff are lovely, entertainment was hilarious, something else! We met some really funny people round the bar - Happy hour was great. Get a massage, really good and very reasonable. The snorkeling was fab and beach seemed to be all for you - not commercial, you are just a Cast-away. Great for young couples/on a budget - but the option on the upgraded room would be my strongest tip. Food was acceptable. On the whole - fond memories, made you chill away from the modern world. Fiji itself is a great place and you feel so welcome and sad to leave "Bula"

Room tip: High up bures with Air-con - amazing views of sea and reef are amazing.

Bula and thank you for your detailed review of your stay at Crusoe's Retreat. We are so very happy that you were able to relax and 'chill' at Crusoes. We pride ourselves on providing a relaxing, unpretentious, traditional Fijian beach holiday. One of the highlights of all our guests' stay is meeting people from around the world, particularly during our popular Happy Hour. Your advice of upgrading to a Deluxe SeaSide Bure is a valid one, particularly for those who wish to have the benefits of air-conditioning. We are happy that you are enjoyed your stay, and like you, we were very sad to see you go. We hope you return soon. Vinaka!

Beautiful friendly Fijian staff. Lots of fun free activities and experiences such as snorkeling, kayaking, learn to speak Fijian, weaving and more... mostly inclusive. Great location, right next to a real Fijian village and beautiful reef and beach. The dive on-site center, is awesome! Had my very first dive, which turned into a shark dive, as I seen two sharks. The meals were mainly nice, except the breakfast, that could of been a little better. The sea-view bewer was a bit below my expectation, but was suffice. More like 3 star than 3.5. Apparently they are doing some upgrades soon, which will be good for them. Nice and intimate, not too busy. Good to be away from the typical 5 star touristy Australianised resorts. There were a good mix of cultures staying at the retreat.. English, American, Fijian and Australian. Staff 5/5 activities 5/5, meals 3.5/5, accommodation 3/5.
Overall 4/5.
