The resort is located just at the entrance of the national park which makes you not to lose time crossing the river every time you want to go to the park.
The room was basic but comfortable. The service was just ok and the food was not very good except for the beef satay and The mee Manal which were excellent.

Stayed: August 2017, travelled as a couple

Very comfortable hotel, directly at the entrance of Taman Negara. Wonderful staff and plenty of (organised) activities for the whole family. Restaurant is not cheap, but offers plenty of choice and quality is very good. Welcome to the jungle!

Wandered down to the jetty at the resort base one day, and asked the pier staff where I could get a boat to a nearby town. "You need a booking", he says. "How much is it?"
"120 ringgit. No, 150 - it's gone up". I turned town his offer and headed back into Kuala Tahan, where every agency quoted me a rate of the "old" price.

So, fair warning. Some of the staff were friendly enough, and I'd like to believe it's just the resort's management who raised the price - but then again, it's not improbable that he made up a higher price at an unnatural rate of inflation to see if I would take the bait.

As for the bungalows themselves, cannot vouch for them entirely although they looked nice from outside, and there's lots of wildlife in the garden. Dorms cost 80 ringgit, compared to 30 across the river, so I don't think I ever will stay here though.

Great place to stay . The only one in the taman negara forest . If travelling by car to TN park the car near the floating restaurants to embark and transfer your luggage to Mutiara which is across the river via the little boats that cross the trembling river every other minute( costing only 1 MYR per person ) . The parking is not allowed for night time so park in Kuala tahan village for 8 MYR per day .
We booked a family chalet which was awesome with two rooms ( one double bed with one ensuite with bathroom ) and one kids two single beds and a lounge and balcony . Absolutely stunning with all facilities such as tea coffee making fridge locker hair dryer warm and cold water toiletries etc . On arrival at hotel we were greeted with cold towels and cold ice tea which was a blessing in the warm humid weather! The facility is just what you want in the midst of TN . There are sign posted for canopy walk which you can do in your own time and pace no need for guide . Breakfast is good . Staff are helpful . But jungle passes for 1 MYR per person and 5 MYR for camera from hotel . Also must see is a short stroll from hotel to swimming area to lubik simpon . Eat at local foisting restaurants much cheaper and great food ! Book tours outside the resort they are much cheaper .
Must do at TN are canopy walk and rapid shooting ! For more adventurous go for night trekking !

We stayed for 4 nights at this lodge at the end of our birding tour of Malaysia. The lodge is wonderful with great accommodations and excellent food/staff. The rooms were spacious, clean and had air conditioning (Taman Negara lies at a low elevation and it gets hot and humid here). The food was a mixture of Malayan, Indian and western cuisine

There are several trails into the surrounding forests. This is an excellent place for birding. Be warned that there are plenty of leeches in the forest and some of the tourists did not seem to aware or prepared to deal with this!
