We found the B&B quite easily with the help of a Sat Nav. This is a lovely old farmhouse that has been restored to a very good standard in a delightful location with a lake in the grounds. We had one of the superior rooms that were on the top floor. The bed was extreemly comfortable. Unfortunately, when we arrived the temperature was much hotter than usual and the air conditioning wasn't coping very well. Elisa and her family were very concerned as they could see we were very hot and offered to move us to a lower room after the weekend. However, the next day they fitted a ceiling fan over the bed which made all the difference - this is the level of service and care that they give at this B&B. The swimming pool is lovely with comfortable sunloungers and gazebo's for shade. A lovely continental buffet breakfast with a good selection of ham, cheese, eggs, pastries, cakes and proper fruit juices (which is unusual in Italy) is available to eat in the garden under the shade of a vine covered pergola. I would recomend this B&B to anyone and will definately go there again. There is an independant restaurant in another part of the farmhouse for lunch and dinner and an alternative about 350 metres away.

Room Tip: Top rooms are larger and have better views but can be hot in the height of summer

Place is just as gorgeous as when we visited four years ago. The property is immaculately maintained and the owners really welcoming. The pool area is delightful. Just a totally relaxing place where the only noise is birdsong. This would be a great base for visiting a number of places and lovely to come back to somewhere so quiet and relaxing. an easy drive in to Lucca

I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights and we had an amazing time. The location was everything you hope from a Tuscan retreat: stone building, vine covered veranda and a stunning view. It was close to Lucca which is of course a great place to visit, and the restaurant was the best we ate in during our entire trip. Highly recommended!

We stayed for 3 nights, before going to a friends wedding further up the hill. The location and villa are simply beautiful, a perfect place to relax and unwind. Our large room was lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with stunning views across the countryside. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, including locally made cheeses and hams - however, I had to restrain myself from eating too many of the cakes and pastries. The hotel is about 15 minutes drive from Lucca, so is conveniently located to visit this beautiful historic city. We enjoyed a divine meal at the restaurant, the menu offers either traditional Tuscan dishes or Tuscan with a twist of japanese, my teryaki steak was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The pool was refreshing and the garden very pretty. The owners and their family have created a wonderful place to stay and they were so very helpful and kind, we really appreciated their thoughtfulness. This was our first trip to Tuscany and we would recommend the Relais del Lago.

A beautiful Tuscan B&B very close to Lucca. We had a normal room, which was spacious. The pool and the garden are both beautiful. Breakfast is great and the people are very friendly. Don't forget to have diner in the restaurant which belongs to the B&B and sit outside. We had a beautiful evening
