My husband & I had a fantastic St Paddy's Day / Rugby trip to Barbados, but the highlight was getting to return to McBrides which we'd really enjoyed several years ago, and I have to admit it may even be a bit better than it was before! This trip we were able to sit and people watch from in front of their outdoor bar, which is brand new, the decor seems to have been quite upgraded (sitting outside in the dining room area is really nicely done now). But maybe best of all was the fact that they now have a large selection of locally made Craft Beers on draught! We both loved this and tried a couple of new ones every night as hubby is a bit of a 'beer connoisseur!!'. Hubby's favourite was the Culpepper Island IPA, followed closely by the 'South Coast Summer Ale'. I myself enjoyed the Prosecco cocktail list!! The food was delicious, very 'gastropub-like' and was served by really friendly staff. Hello Regan!
We were there not only for all the madness of the rugby and St Patricks Day as it could only be in an Irish Pub, but we also saw the house band 'The Unusual Suspects', do a live back in time night which was absolutely fantastic, and we certainly hope they'll still be playing Saturdays when we go back in July.
We made McBrides our second home while in Barbados and certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, casual spot with good food, good drinks, nice decor and friendly staff (who will likely remember what you had the night before and make you feel like family!).
