Staying at a medieval castle is an awesome, unique experience to start with and at CastelBrando they go a step further, as you can even rent some of the castle towers to stay in and even better, the bill won’t break the bank. However you do feel a bit intimidated to not touch or destroy some of the wonderful old frescoes on the walls. And at a small extra cost you can even have the breakfast served in your tower living room, an absolutely unforgettable experience.
The castle is also great to just visit and enjoy its museums and the bar and restaurant which offer stunning views of the valley below.

The hotel is spot on. The reception service is excellent. There is a free of charge parking at the base of the funicular. The hotel parking costs 7 euros/night. The spa is a must and it is not really expensive.

Great location, stunning views.
Castle has been lovingly restored and has large dining areas, terraces with absolutely amazing views.
Access to the castle is via a funicular railway, which is an experience in itself.
Rooms are smaller than you might think, but to be expected of a place this age.
Free wi-fi is patchy at best.
Bed comfy, bathroom tiny.
Food is OK, nothing special, but not appalling either.

Staying at CastelBrando lived up to all our expectations.
The atmosphere is amazing and the open invitation to explore inside and outside meant we spent many hours just walking and soaking up the atmosphere.
Our room was well appointed with plenty of room and a good sized bathroom (not something you normally associate with Italian hotels).
Our New Years Eve dinner was a great way to ring in 2020
The staff were very helpful and all spoke English
If you have ever wondered what it would be like to live in a castle I can recommend a stay here

I had seen the pictures prior to booking and I was still blown away. If you've ever visited a medieval castle museum and wondered what it was like to live there... the answer is "fabulous!".

We booked this hotel after we'd already planned the rest of our holiday. We needed to stop between the airport and the Dolomites and that's how I found it. I wish I'd known about it before because it deserves to be a destination in itself! It will certainly be a memorable experience for us.

Service is five stars, everyone at reception and the breakfast restaurant was very professional and helpful and kind. Thank you.
